Very helpful video, saved my skin today. I have a digital thermostat...at first i pressed the red button but nothing happened. Then i remembered i turned the thermostat to 63 and the house was still warm. I adjusted the thermostat to 70 Fahrenheit and it started to bleed.
Thanks! Really appreciate all the explanation and easy to follow how-to video. Nice that you've also included a lot of details to pretty much get all the relevant questions answered.
Great presentation. I can confirm this is correct Approach. Able to bleed A Beckett furnace And it was indeed the 3/8 socket. With me I had to do this about 9 or 10 times before it kicked in
Does the valve controlling flow to the house get closed during filling? My daughter had her tank filled last week and now the furnace isn't running. I'm wondering if the driver may have forgot to reopen the valve, thereby starving the house/furnace of fuel. I'll have her test her cooktop when she gets home; that would also tell us if propane is flowing. She lives half way across the country, so I can't go out and check for her; any help/information would be appreciated. Thank you.
I ran out of oil two days before my scheduled delivery (think I’ve been running the house warmer this year, or I’ve been getting less oil for the same money which is more likely haha) and house was absolutely unbearably chilly. Thankfully it wasn’t so cold the pipes froze. But once I had the oil delivered this morning. I literally watched your video once. And I have my oil furnace restarted. It took me 10 minutes. I’m kind of blown away how easy it was, especially when I called a place for a quote and was told it could range from 100-300 depending on if it needed any cleaning (it didn’t, literally just needed a bleed). Told them I’d call back, but got the creaking and popping of my pipes now (water heated pipes so lots of old pops and creaks when it heats up). Thank you for posting this video.
Found your vid because my bleed attempts weren’t working for about 10 cycles. As you demonstrated, you really gotta turn that bleeder! Fired right up. My warm family thanks you
Update - Just did it and works beautifully. Last time I had a company do this (they quoted me $116, I confirmed this quote TWICE with them) and instead charged me just shy of $200
It’s minus 5 in the uk and the boiler ran out called 10 plumbers who were no help Watched this video and now we have heating have a family with 4 young kids so can’t thank you enough absolutely a life saver
Very poor video you didn't explain hardly any of The other valves, purge valve, evacuation valve, everybody knows what the regulators are and the in/off valve
I thought you said you were going to explain the rest of the valves, not just the high and low pressure regulators what about the rest of the outlets and inlets where it goes in where it comes out what are they for how they used.
Mine is in a hard lockout, no blinking, nada. When you say “turn it on” what do you mean? Mine is turned on by closing the door, there seems to be a spring release mechanism. I can’t close the door….
Well....I was interested in the other valves that were under the dome and their function...the ones with the yellow screw on caps. There is a bigger one and a smaller one. What are they called and what is their function? Thanks for your help. Jesus bless.
Can i hook a generator to a 500 gallon propane , First is the high pressure reulator , then a 12 foot hose with a fitting to accept a short hose with a short hose regular and into the generator . It then would have the posibably to attach to a 5 gallon tank Thank you
Not starting after holding the reset button for more than a minute, what's going on? The motor does not make any noise at all and "call for heat" light is yellow on the main switch panel. The motor seems does not turn on at all no matter how long I hold the reset button. I also changed the oil filter the added 5 gallons of diesel. does this cause problem?
Not sure if your still around on this channel but I was curious I have a house in Upper Michigan where the furance hasn't been started in over 10 yrs. Does heating fuel slug up like gasoline does if so would I have to bleed it out of the system and drain the tank? Also do you know if there is a conversion to propane for old furnaces? Probably just worth purchasing a new one at that point.
