Trains have always been a part of my life and my lifetime hobby. I created this channel in 2016 and to talk about railroad history and how trains work. I like going to places with trains to make videos and to upload videos about trains. I gave myself the name Train Guy since like 2012 and planned this RU-vid channel since between Christmas 2014 and New Years Day 2015 and didn't begin uploading till later in January 2016 and this channel was created earlier that month. If you like what you see, please subscribe even if you haven't already I would sure appreciate that. Thanks so much and I upload videos starting from March or April to late September or Early or Mid October and sometimes a just few videos during the winter time.
Finishing this sentence at the end: in Williams, Arizona and was given the present name it has now. In 2012 it was also repainted in the paint scheme most of the passenger cars that are used for the excursion train as well.
The Sioux City Railroad Museum suffered flooding. They're currently working on recovering from the flood that occurred in Sioux City Iowa. Idk what the flooding did to LGEX #61. Also here's a minor correction for you: LGEX #61 was originally built as an NC with a Winton engine from the Winton Engine Corporation.
The museum has partnered with American Heartland Railway Society to restore the locomotive to operation, to help with the restoration to operation project please donate to them and this is the link to where you'll want to go checkout.square.site/merchant/N9FKT9P3A3CS4/checkout/6OWLJ47ODZMNC5FBFMPBQ7QT
Great news! It has been announced that the Sioux City Railroad Museum and the American Heartland Railway Society are teaming up to restore Great Northern Railway 1355 to operation!
@@MatthewLappTrainGuy683 I’d say go for it. Don’t forget to include the donation link the description of your 2nd update video on 1355. That will attract more donors and help get the 1355 running as soon as possible.
I have not seen number 20 since I visited the Grand Canyon Railway back in 2001 at that time she was on display at the Williams station and number 18 was pulling the regular tourist train I recall as she gave the five minute whistle warning I heard a horn and I look back and a northbound BNSF freight with a Santa Fe warbonnet locomotive was leading Roared by toward Williams Junction I just remember hearing it’s beautiful Leslie RS-3L horn
There was only one problem with this unit. The problem of no smoke and so there was not enough...snoose under the hood! It was a greenies dream. While the railroads that were stuck using it were in reality, still frowning. Interesting catch!!
The locomotive was actually built by Hinkley Locomotive Works in Boston, Massachusetts. It always had ownership with the AT&SF Railroad, it was originally built with a 4-4-0 wheel arrangement being known as an American type steam locomotive and originally was numbered 73 and was named "H.C.Hardon". In 1897 it was rebuilt by the railroad's Cleburne shops in Cleburne, Texas to the present wheel arrangement and was renumbered 993 till 1900 where it was renumbered the current number, also the rest of the history after that can be heard in the video.
Ladies and gentlemen, just so you all know, there might be a good chance I might consider pulling the plug on making steam locomotive No. 7 at the Black Hills Central Railroad in South Dakota my 683rd steam engine to be seen in person by me.
That's true and it was sad when I've heard, also I'm glad they're rebuilding the depot from the ground up, the depot soon got justice meaning the person who set it on fire was arrested.
