Nick, I was just made aware of this footage. I have watched this several times (THANK YOU) and reviewing it along with our ground-based photos. There may be a rating change to this evening. Hope you enjoy drone flying. I picked up a Mavic 2 Pro last summer (2020) for fun and it has been a blast to learn and see Western PA from aloft. It has helped me on several tornado damage surveys.
This one is a nice step up from what I am used to flying, this one (it's actually the Calu Meteorology Club Drone, but Dr. Kauffman gave me access to it) is a Phantom 4 Pro. It is pretty nice. Unfortunately, due to the rain, I was unable to fly it over more of the path. I did, today, fly it over the tracks of the West Finely Tornadoes and will be uploaded those videos on here later this evening. Feel free to use anything from the videos that you want to. I can also share a one-drive folder, with the higher resolution photos straight from the drone (and my phone) if you would like me to! I took about 80 pictures in the West Middletown/Buffalo areas Friday morning.
@@NickWilkes5166 Ahhhhh. We surmised you were with CalU. Excellent! I flew mine (in the rain) over the East Finley Twp storm yesterday. We were literally within a minute or so of having 3 on the ground simultaneously at 7:58-7:59 PM in the same county! Thank you for all of your efforts. They are most appreciated. We may try to investigate the West Hopewell Twp (northern-most storm) back across the WV panhandle into Ohio because that radar signature extends, intact, quite a ways west from the known (i.e. reported) damage.
Very cool footage! I got to see some of the damage done in shippingport but I guess the tornado that hit Monaca was stronger. I didn't even know there was a tornado warning until I got up and saw the text from an hour before lol.
This is right in front of my parents house. I always remembered them talking about this. That's 18th st. And 23rd ave. Our basement always flooded out when it rains.
My parents lived on the second floor of the apartment on the corner there. They moved out about shortly after this and bought a house right before I was born in June.
Yeah that appartment building on the corner and I grew up in the house right beside it, the red brick house with a patio that went to the garage. I was told the reason why 18th street floods like that is because it was once a creek

it did touch down... the inflow jet was insane, my weather radio had a severe thunderstorm warning and tornado warning activation in the span of literally 2 minutes.
BlueElite the storm dropped an EF-1 near Graysville. I’m not 100% if it touched down where I was filming. The trees blocked my view as the rotation was lowering. The NWS is still surveying so, we’ll just have to wait to see if they found damage in this area. And the inflow was crazy! It was rocking our Jeep! This was a textbook, classic, supercell that we don’t get in PA very often!
Hi Kody Randlett this is in East End near FeFi's and Burger King. Surprising the only damage I had from the storm was to the flowers in my garden, and well my basement had water in it because both of the storm drains on my road clogged from all of the leaves that were torn off. However, many cars in the neighborhood had small dents from the storm.
