I once owned a Piaggio MP3 400 which is very similar to this hike. I now own a Can Am Spyder and a Suzuki Burgman 650 AN Executive. I understand you're reviewing the Peugeot but the Can Am Spyder is a great but different to this type of bike. Yes it has 3 wheels but they are much wider and therefore (at least in my opinion) even more stable than this type of bike. I enjoyed riding the MP3 I love the Burgman and I love the Can Am. I don't think the Peugeot was sold in Australia (where I live), the Piaggio's were not big sellers either sadly as they were ideal for those who were new to riding and were worried about holding up a big bike or those who were having some mobility issues (perhaps due to age) but still wanted to ride. Holding up a bigger bike (my previous ride was a Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700) was the reason I went to the Spyder. Thanks for your review.
Interesting , I turn on key , wait for pump to stop , and touch start, fires up immediately for me , don't turn throttle ! 2023 clx heritage , nebula black .
nice review.but if you want ducati to come to you with an in depth review offer (nothing major, just a 950S in white, plus of course a panigale v4 for comparison, at a nearby track with travel, food, accommodations covered), you should have edited out the part where you dropped the other bike; just sayin'
Test rode one while my monster was in for its 1st service that is when I realised I bought the wrong bike 😬 Ah well pick up my new street fighter in a weeks time happy days 😂
Great review thank you. I have the 2023 model in red and I love it. There is some vibration through the footpegs, the riding position is more aggressive than the CBR600F of years back, but I really think it’s a great bike. I have a quick shifter on mine as part of the sports pack.
I’ve also got the red 2023 - it’s perfect for how I ride. I need one that has plenty of highway speed but I don’t need tons of low torque. Strictly a street/hwy rider. We used to say “sport” or “super sport”. The term “sport tourer” really doesn’t fit. You aren’t going to “tour” on an R7 or a cbr650r or even a Ninja 650. But terminology is what it is.
Thanks. This was a very sensible and accurate assessment of both these bikes. I had both. I'm 55 almost 56, I had the 2023 Hornet for 3 months but then I exchanged it for a second hand 2020 CB650R with 9000 km on it. I was very lucky because the CB650R already came with beautiful engine guards that blend in with the color of the engine extremely well and not with sliders that look like mushrooms are growing out the side of the engine. It also came with a tail tidy and a quickshifter. I think the Hornet performs very well and in acceleration (both with quickshifters) is slightly faster than the CB650R, but the difference is minimal we're talking tenths of a second from 0 to 100 and 2 seconds from 0 to 200 the Hornet gets there faster. Nevertheless the Hornet is restricted and cuts the throttle at 222 kph whereas as the CB650R pushes on and depending on conditions it will take you beyond 235 to 242. To conclude these are not the traits that sold me on either bike, like I said I'm 55 riding since 1992, it was purely the aesthetic of the CB650R compared to an ugly duckling that may grow on you (no pun intended) but Honda did a very poor job in terms of the Hornet's looks, although I would say that the Hornet is s bit more fun to ride. Cheerio, Mike.
Yo siempre he tenido tetracilíndricas, me gustan por suavidad y finura, he cambiado a esta Hornet, y si, es muy divertida y el motor va tremendo, saludos
@@JackkClarke yeah all good so far mate, cant really complain on the whole, it feels and rides lovely (if not massively quick but its a modern day 125 so it is what it is) looks amazing, seems to run on air alone as the fuel lasts forever lol, started first time every time, some minor niggles like condensation in the TFT display, few squeaks etc but nothing really. I havent been able to ride it as much as i would of liked due to weather/time but summer is coming soon! Would recommend but cant comment on its capabilities vs the Aprilia rs125 or Yamaha R125 as ive not rode them and dont know anyone who has had the contemporary 4 stroke versions im afraid. Really want to do my full test this year but money is tight, dont know if i can justify it!
@@JackkClarke if you can get it for the same price id go for it. Have to factor in the service costs aswell so it does work out slightly more. Premier bikes in abingdon service is usually £180 a time. Unsure of Fowlers/Blades etc servicing costs
Thanks!@@simonh1791 So far the cheapest I can get it for is £3,499 + £200 OTR fee (£3699) so still cheaper than a MT125 or R125 but the insurance is throwing me off! £1300/yr! I've seen a few comments and videos about condensation in the display but not seen any major damage caused by it. Wont be a heavy ride just to/from work daily so 20 miles a week roughly. Having a hard time finding my first 125cc haha. decisions decisions... The SINNIS GPX 125 was my other choice for £2300K + £706/yr insurance.
It's fuel injection dude, it will start better if you don't twist the throttle. I really like my CL-X 700. The price I paid in Central Oregon was $5,900. But after that they sold out the remaining bikes for $4,999!
@@keninthewind6216 It's a great bike dude. I will buy it for this year and why? I rode a Yamaha mt07, a new Hornet 750, a Kawasaki Z650 and I can say (write) that this Heritage put the biggest smile on my face when I had it on loan, because it is incredibly easy to handle and drive. CF moto really did this 👍 Have a nice day and greetings from the Czech Republic🙋 🏍🍀
@@tomasmaldini1585 that's awesome man! I wish we could post pictures on this comment/replies thread. It's the season for snowmobiling now and I will have to get some of that action on my RU-vid channel. Peace ✌️
@@keninthewind6216 Do you also ride in the snow?😮 So you're one of the few people who ride "machines" all year round😊👍 Oh and sorry for my worse English, I hope you understand me🙏 I wish you many kilometers without accidents😊
I’d be interested in seeing how you get on with this. I had an SPConnect back in 2020 (so it wasnt the plus version) and found it was hard to use the mount, I could easily knock the phone off the mount, and I could always twist the socket on the back of the phone by hand which then got stuck and I couldn’t use it. I did love the case though. I ended up selling the full kit (I had it for both my motorcycle and mtb) and ended up buying the Quadlock to replace it. I’ve not had any issues with the quadlock at all and I’ve even dropped the phone from about 3.5m onto a hard floor and it was fine. I ended up upgrading to the waterproof wireless charger for the bike and i love it.
I'll be stripping the clutch down over the winter period and I'll have the video for this over on my channel to show what the problem is 👍 watch this space!
I’d like to point out one thing that you kind of have wrong about the original sportster. The original sportster was never advertised as a girls bike or a beginner bike. It was literally designed to be lighter faster and have better performance than the other Harleys at the time. And in that sense the new sportster leans heavily into that part of its heritage. Which I appreciate. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a big fan of the current exhaust note. But a Decent pipe helps this bike a lot. My biggest gripe with it however is that they didn’t lean hard enough into the sport part of its heritage. In my opinion this bike should’ve come with a little bit taller seat height, the optional mid controls should have been standard, dual disc brakes. And as cool as it looks, the 160 front tire needs to go,. This bike is begging for more corner clearance and nimbleness. They should have made this bike a modern version of the XR 1200
Not a 'girls bike' as such - but in the latter stage of its life, it was the one model that was used in direct marketing to women. There was a dedicated marketing campaign to get more women riding and the last version of the old Sportster was the model that was chosen as it was the smallest, lightest and most approachable for a new rider. So its public image had changed somewhat, compared to its heritage. I do agree about the cornering clearance - you can't lean it over very much.
Today 2023 August, this isn't true, kawasaki relaunch the zx6r, and delivery the new zx4r, Honda possibly launch a 4 cilinder 400 cc new bike and, relaunch the cbr600rr, the 4 in line is not dead 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
What a journey that was! I'd have loved to have got it finished myself, but as we saw, time was the issue, so I'm glad the garage could get the finishing touches sorted 👍 The track GSXR... This is going to be fun 😁
Even though Torque is well... Shit, the ride scene with the Honda's and the Aprilia at the beginning is incredible, and it didn't get a mention... Not that it saves the film but it was the best part of the film!
Very inciteful review and spot on with price point and its a hidden gem. Although I disagree with "entry level" sports bike. I think its more Sport Touring than Pani or Monster and wish Ducati would bring back a dedicated ST... cant get use to the look of a Multi and wont buy in there.
