It has been 50 years since serious jiu jitsu. I am now 83. Still don't know if it is a good idea to get back into it. I really enjoyed it, but, not sure about my balance. Great video.
This is the 3rd video I've watched on this and it's the first one that drew a clear distinction on appropriate application. Hiza when he sinks low, susae when he gets high.
Mahalo for the demo! Kesa gatame is my go to. That was the very first pin I learned in high school. Very powerful attacks from that simple position. Works so well against the non-judo grapplers !😎
Really really bad demonstration. There is NO hip bump in koshi guruma and uke should be loaded on your hip like in o goshi, not on the side of your hip like in uki goshi. Bad judo !
as a person with CP, these are amazing thank you very much. People on reddit say that grappling from the knees is useless, but they never think about people with disabilites.
awesome demo guys congratulations for BLACK belt Brandon 🥋🥋 Bravo! Well done 🥇🥇 You've gained some weight try low carb diet or ketogenic diet (keto) sad to see how young man gain weight no offence 😁😁💪💪
Came here only to discover I'm a complete white belt in newaza. But then again what do you expect my club only teaches submissions not necessarily how to get into a dominant position to set them up.
there is a variation in which you squeeze the tips of the jawbone, especially if he defends by tucking his chin...my father showed me 30 yrs ago and its awfully painful
It's also illegal in judo since you are not allowed to touch any part of the face. But it certainly works in BJJ although your partner might never roll with you again. 😆
It seems to me rather an arbitrary categorization. There are many versions of the throw, and even in the Kodokan descriptions, it refers to it as using a leg sweep.
Thank you for sharing this. I will take a solid Kesa over mount or nearly any other position. Absolute worst place to find yourself if someone knows how to work it.
