Haha Day of the Baphomets is my favorite TMV song and I just found this, and it instantly became my second favorite, this is fantastic. The ending is just pure listening bliss. Boy, am I glad to read what was included in the vinyl box set. One question though, who did the bass and drums? Was it Eva and Jon?
WOW! that's like, the fourth version of Cicatriz I'm aware of, seems like a Landscape Tantrums demo, which is strange to not see it included, but either, such a cool arrangement, I wonder if Rubin had something to do with the changes on this song.
No maybe you just need to listen to it more. It doesn’t really matter what songs you like and don’t like. As long as you like the band as a whole and respect their music then you’re a fan
i think this might be around October 2002 because i recognized the "walkie talkie" vocal distortion from the live sets they played at the This Ain't No Picnic set and the set they played in Santa Barbara
I remember hearing “A Plague Upon Your Hissing” as it was called back then for the first time summer 2006 around the time Amputechture leaked. That was also around the time I found the Summer Demos (which I believe this video expands upon!!) and the de-loused session re-recordings of concertina and Eunuch Provocateur. A fun time to be a Mars Volta fan. There was a Wikipedia page up for a fake B-sides compilation called A Missing Chromosome which is what led me to this track to begin with. RIP THE COMATORIUM
@@khristiansandoval799 I think the version that ended up in the vinyl box set is more complete, but this one rips too, as rough as it is! I would also like to hear either version on streaming (and they should put Frances The Mute coda/song on there too)
what a rare treat, for decades long fans of this band, getting to hear these time capsules from long ago is simply exquisite, from a musical and a historical perspective. These unheard glimpses can transport me to a time that is gone forever in ways few other things in this world are capable of.
Gone forever. Makes me sad to think that this era is gone. they have moved on it seems from this style. Nothing beats john Theodore era. Raw emotional music to it's core.
It isn't. "Summer demo sessions" was just an unmastered early mix of the album (de-loused) that leaked... This was just made available to the world about a month ago & is from an entirely different set of sessions from 02'
@@iamisandisnt What was called "Summer Demos" on the old Comatorium forum turned out to be two-track reference mixes of "Landscape Tantrums". Look it up.
Yes, this is from the demo sessions that took place after Tremulant. A "remix" of sorts: Left channel is an unmastered demo from 2002. Right channel is the Landscape Tantrums mix from 2021.
⚡️⚡️GREAT STUFF⚡️⚡️I’m glad I found your channel I look forward to seeing more of your videos📺 I do mostly TRANSFORMER Stop Motion 🎬📸🎞️ I hope you enjoy my animation‼️
I was so bummed to miss him on this tour, but I had too many conflicts it wasn't meant to be this time. Really hoping he keeps playing with this band, I love the lineup.
