Evolutionary Herbalism is built upon holistic philosophies of herbalism and nature from across the world. From Ayurveda and alchemy, to clinical herbalism, medical astrology and modern science, this approach seeks to unite traditional models of plant medicine into a cohesive clinical practice. This holistic model of herbalism honors the whole plant and the whole person, and seeks to utilize medicinal plants in a way that equally addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual sides of healing.
Developed by the herbalist, spagyricist, and medical astrologer Sajah Popham, Evolutionary Herbalism strives to be a balanced approach, honoring the chemical, energetic, and spiritual attributes of both people and plants. Sajah's teachings embody a heartfelt respect, honor and reverence for the vast intelligence of plants in a way that empowers us to look deeper into the nature of our medicines and ourselves.
Always wonderful words and amazing teaching. Thank you Sajah 😊🌸 I've just a question: do you advice to make a cold infusion or a hot infusion of Meadowsweet with Marshmallow root for relaxed tissue state that passively leak fluids?
This was a wonderful, encouraging and inspiring conversation, very timely for the point I'm at on my personal 'Plant Path'. Thank you Sajah and Wolf! 💝
Mister, what can you comment on Cannabis products for mental clarity or stimulation. It's problem is it turns narcotic afterwards, i.e. habit forming and sleep inducing. What do you say ?? How about a video 🤩😅😃😜
Sir, this video is 10 months old, now July '24. Your older videos are 6 - 10 yrs ago. Where are you located ? I have a question re Medical Cannabis, if you are accessable ??
My husband and I have Burdock tea with either peppermint or spearmint each night for the past 4 months. I actually had a greater burdock volunteer in our greenhouse this spring here in North Idaho. It’s huge now and flowers are emerging. After I collect the seeds it will need to go. Unfortunately probably won’t be able to get the roots because it grew from under the side it our raised bed. We have a common burdock in our front yard we will be harvesting.
Thank you, Sajah! I often grow plants that I feel called to without knowing much, if anything, about them. I recently added meadowsweet to my garden so it feels serendipitous to be receiving this teaching now. I loved hearing your short take on meadowsweet and I appreciate you and all you offer to the plants and the community!
Thank you for your wisdom. Very inspirational. The whole plant can be used. The stalk when cut before the flower opens and stripped of the bitter rind, can be boiled or used in salads (eat raw with oil and apple-cider vinegar); it has a delicate flavor of asparagus. Taken from the book; "School of Natural Healing", By Dr. John R.Christopher
Will chamomile be a good herb for over heated/toxic liver? To cool the liver i mean? I heared milkthistle is more heating herb for the liver. And than balanceit out with agrimoni
Unfortunately we are not able to give herbal suggestions or recommendations on social media. Each person is complex with a lifetime’s health history which needs to be carefully assessed before choosing which herbs may be supportive to an individual. We believe herbalism should be customized to each person, which is why we don’t feel it’s appropriate to offer general recommendations based on symptoms. You deserve the best care, so we’d recommend seeking out an herbalist to work with for herbal advice and reaching out to your doctor for medical advice. If you’re wondering where to find an herbalist to work with, you can try the American Herbalist Guild website to find reputable herbal practitioners in your area.
Hey there Sajah, please also acknowledge that acid reflux is very often not because of too much heat and too much acid but is because of too little acid and a cold stomach. In this situation the sphincter at the top of the stomach doesn't get the chemical signal from HCL acid and remains open allowing the symptoms of reflux to occur. This is exacerbated by the fact that food is remaining in the stomach for too long. In this scenario an antacid effect is exactly what we don't want. I personally experience this and get great results using a HCL supplement. It's very common as we age to have reduced HCL. I realize that you understand Meadowsweet isn't actually acting as an antacid and you are explaining it holistically - it' just that every time I hear you explain this scenario about heartburn I kinda cringe because that's the way most people are interpreting these symptoms and very often treating it with actual over the counter antiacids or approaching it this way when using herbs.
I learn so much from your videos. I don't even use many of the herbs that I grow, but their beauty alone earns them a place in my garden. Thank you for another fantastic video. ❤
I have been trying to heal my leaky gut, candida,I've been taking marshmellow root to L- glutimine, both have helped quite well. I've been taking herbs for about 30 years,I don't eat preservatives, additives, sugar,no chemicals at all. Thru your studies I'm learning more about staying healthy,I don't take any big pharma drugs and I'm in my mid 60s. Great information that you give us to stay healthy.
This is an herb I haven't yet grown or used. I'd really like to grow it. Not sure if it'll grow well in north florida though. I've had great success with many herbs. Just harvested a huge bowl of elderberry yesterday.
Hi, she is hardy to zone 9. I just started growing this lovely plant last year. They love rich, moisture retaining soils and regular watering. I haven't had much luck starting her from seed, tho. I will certainly try again next year. I have been drawn to this plant for some reason. She smells amazing when she blooms!
hi sajah! i have a question (not particularly related to the video but i figured asking on your most recent post would be best), i hope you don’t mind. would you interpret someone having body acne (and little to no acne on the face) as a different symptom than face acne? if so, what would body acne imply/point to that’s different from face acne?

@@EvolutionaryHerbalism i recognize that, but i was not asking for advice or herb recommendations, i was asking about how one would interpret particular symptoms with regards to a persons energetics
Thank you very informative. I have a question please. since infused oils are safer what would be a safe usage rate for cold process soaps , body butter and scrubs ? EO medium scent - 0.7oz per pound at 4.5% per lb Could I use them at 6% ? 0.96oz per lb Thanks for this video New subscriber
I just want to thank you for all the amazing information you share. I know some of the videos are older, but I'm grateful that they are still here to learn from them! You are a blessing :)
You were very specific about the form to take of milky oats and skullcap. No mention of that for the hypericum. Nerve tropho-restorative protocol begins at 8:10.
Hey I just found your channel and I am really happy about it! Can't wait to dive into this well of knowledgeable, thank you so much. The world needs this. I am curious if you would make a video about herbs for arthritic conditions? My dad has rhemetoid arthritis and his conventional medicines are not working any more. He is in a lot of pain, and although I am interested in herbalism, I don't feel qualified to try to treat his condition with herbs, because he is also already very skeptical and won't do his own research in the field of natural remedies. I also see he has had years of antibiotic use which has also caused him to now have something similar to chrones disease. I am sad for him to see his declining health. Unfortunately I don't think he would seek alternative therapies unless it is a last resort, which I think soon it will be. If you could refer to me in a direction or make a video about arthritic conditions, it would be amazing! Thank you so much
Thank you very much for your story. Taking time to observe is a real challenge these days. It is remarkable what you can experience in nature once you call a halt to your hectic habits. Social pressures and expectations are sometimes so high that you no longer realise you have a right to your own place of life. Once taking time for yourself surrounded by the plants gives you back such a strong power. It fills you with true happiness.
Such a fantastic, in-depth 35 minute course in burdock!! I’m so happy to find your RU-vid channel. Gonna check out your whole array of platforms now!! Thanks for this abundance of info on this awesome plant. Best to you!!!
Perfect presentation.. One of my "beefs" is how herbal medicine has become allopathic in some circles, with some marketed products having standardized constituents. NO !!
