How much did you pay for the alignment? I’m hoping I don’t get bent over when I take the truck in. Or, do n have a video on a DIY alignment?

Thanks for the sleuthing. I will do that clean out ASAP. I think this also could be an entry point for rainwater some how. My blower motor cover has foam rubber on backside that gets wet like a sponge. Also my blower motor sometimes screeches ?? Cheers

My Cummins temperature goes higher then 200f when I keep the truck on 70mph or higher but then it comes back to 200 or less if I drive it less then 60pmh was this the same issue you ware having ?
@icantfindausernamify
@icantfindausernamify 6 месяцев назад
I'm having the same issue but at about 80mph or higher. Did you end up solving your issue? I'm going to start with the thermostat and coolant temp sensor, and then if that doesn't work I'll try the fan clutch

Good vid, BUT you stated the fan bolts just need to be finger tight.i don't think so....there has to be a tight seal between the heater motor and heater motor housing!!

Thanks for this video, I'm working on my 1997 Suburban here in 2021, it was very helpful. The only thing I think needs clarifications is the screen you refer to in the ductwork is actually the face of the evaporator which is like the A/C system heater core except it provides cooling. I used a vacuum with a piece of tubing stuck into the attachment to vacuum off the evaporator face. My glove box has an black attachment strap on the left side that prevented easy removal like you shown. I noticed on your reinstall yours has that black rubber band strap but it was not attached to the glove box. It is on the left side as you look towards the dash.

That’s what I was thinking exactly, lol, if that camper was heavy at all, I’m betting they didn’t make it far, at best they were 2 ply, if I had seen this then I would tried to warn him, lol. I kept looking to see if it was just the camera angle, then I noticed they were mounted on the side of the mounting plate. I’m putting very similar air springs on an old Ford , I’m going for directly off of the leaf spring mounting plates, I’ll fabricated some hangers for the top to frame rails. The springs I have are for a drop axle on a dump truck, but they are identical almost to those. If your thinking of something like this, the big truck air springs for drop axles can be had at reasonable cost on line, just look for some place clearing inventory, I got mine at 70 percent off, dirt cheap for the grade of air springs they are, I’ve seen kits here and there online that just supply mounting hardware if you don’t to make it yourself. Maybe I just wasted all that , or maybe it’s of interest, I just noticed your comment looking over what others have done, I’m making it up as I go along 😬🤣, have a great day and good luck with everything your doing. Peace

Why were you replacing your thermostat?
@rudedog302
@rudedog302 3 года назад
You could have just replaced the cabin air filters which are what he is cleaning the crud off of. There is a cover, under the blower box assembly, just to the left of the blower motor with a bolt back by the firewall holding it on and two, replaceable, air filters in there under that cover.

As I writing this I'm stock on the side of the road with my 2000 dodge 3500, it started overheating, I was wondering if I take off the thermostat just to climb the grade on a I 15 going to Barstow California, I'm hauling a forklift with my trailer, do you guys think that would help the truck nor overheat, any advise, thanks and God bless

I did this. My A/C blows MUCH harder now. I used foaming A/C cleaner, a tiny brush, and a shop vac. Then I used my shop air compressor with 120 PSI. I put a piece of 1/4” fuel line over the end of the blow nozzle so I could get into the tight area and blow the fins out really well. Thanks!!!!
@xuebingli9050

I think the air bag is too close to the leaf spring, that means you would have a risk that the air bag scraped by the leaf spring.

At 3:30 it looks like the brake line is snaked between the two threaded bolts for the new bracket. It would be a very good idea to put some plastic or some kind of soft barrier between them so that the brake line doesn't vibrate and rub away on the bolt thread and cause the brakes to go out.

Please don't call the evaporator a "Filter" or "Screen" these trucks do not have a filter (very poor design) and the evaporator is the part that gets clogged full of leaves, dust, hair and whatever else gets in there.
