Ever wonder why its called "arch"ery. Ever wondered why some bows shoot faster than others. Why does a deer not run away from a gunshot? Find out here on Hunting Science Explained
@user-ft3oc7ks9z the clover turned light green with maybe a yellow hue, but never turned brown. I have tried drilling directly into established clover after mowing it and had almost no results. The clover choked out the brassicas. I would highly recommend giving it a try.
That’s the ideal vehicle combo in my opinion. Best of both worlds. Really enjoyed this format of video. I am a little surprised you made a rookie mistake with the sd card. 😉
@@bowhuntingforlife that was a bit embarrassing. 😳 It's nice to be able to just hop in and drive and not have to swap equipment around. Now I can just leave my chainsaws and such in my truck.
I'm running a Kubota B2650. With no added weight, it picks it up no problem. With a six cinder blocks added on the back holder, it is right about at capacity.
I think between my brother and I, it has already paid for itself. It is a huge time saver and the results are far more uniform than broadcasting. I'm planning a video on it.
@bowhuntingforlife I think it is a great drill for anyone wanting to plant small seeds fully no-till. For larger seeds, it will work if your soil isn't too hard. After a couple of rains or in loamy soil, you're probably good. If you have clay soil or the ground has been baked in the sun, I suspect you won't get great seed depth for larger seeds. This could be a problem if they are seeds that animals are interested in picking out. I will add that I drilled through brassicas last year to put rye in, and it did really well at that. I need to take a look here soon to see how it did pushing through live grasses.
Thank you. I try not to get beat myself up too much anymore. Trucks in the shop at the moment. I'll be sure to post an update on the fix once they're done.
Mine’s two hours away took hundreds of pics of nothing now it isn’t sending any pics at all ! I drove two hours to restart and reprogrammed it tested it it functioned fine then a day or two later it sent hundreds of nothing and shut off again! Not my first trailcam either ! The cam sucks in my opinion!
Take three arrows same weight om blunt one field point one broad head all will travel the same speed having the same kinetic energy and having the same momentum upon impact .it is how its displaced. properly tuned equipment and correct arrow flight and placement are what is needed
Man, that's a great looking plot! You could probably do nothing and have deer all over that night after night LOL that box blind is sweet. Let me know if you need me to sit in there and see how it works LOL Good luck!
Where I live the deer are really wired, the click of cocking a flintlock will send them in a panic over the next ridge, I noticed in the video your deer respond to the click as well. Now I use a leather frizzen cover, I cock my flintlock when I get settled in a stand, and put the cover over the frizzen so the gun can't go off. I have the cover tethered to the trigger guard under some tension so it can't ever slip off on its own. When a deer approaches, I flip the cover off and am good to go, no noise and no fumbling with cocking the gun with cold hands. The covers are called frizzen stalls, most of the traditional B/P suppliers like TOW sell them or you can make your own easily.
Cell link crap. Not the cable. You buy the cell link to work with your camera. Not buy the link and then find which cameras work. Stupid. Next I tried browning camera. Screwed my camera up and eats batteries in day or two. Not sending photos
The Flex uses a more aggressive (and accurate) curve for battery life than the Micros so I think a lot of folks believe it uses more battery than it does. With that said I am thinking it likely uses a bit more power.
I think you could still utilize your old mounts. Instead of using them vertically with 1/4 screw pointing north, rotate it 90 degrees and have 1/4 screw point facing forward. Just my 2 cents, keeps you from having to buy new mounts. I get it though, you will be screwing mount into the side of the tree but I don’t see that being too big of an issue but who knows depending on how close surrounding trees, brush and such are.
Okay one last thing, sorry for bothering you. I am about to purchase one and had a few questions. If I use AA batteries and get updates like every two hours, will the batteries last at least 2-3 months in either the cell link or in the micro mini camera? I really appreciate your help
Alkaline batteries should last a couple thousand pictures. The Micro does very well on batteries from my experience. I put Energizer Ultimate Lithiums in it and they will last a season getting a couple hundred pics a month.
Thank you for this-very helpful! I purchased the Force-Dark and I had the same issue with the cell link cable. Going to making some modifications to my camera and case this weekend.
So barely a mention about the external 12v hookup. I was at Spotsmans Warehouse and saw the FLEX on sale for $99. I didn't buy it because I need the 12v port. Nothing on Spypoints website in the specs or packaging. It said you could use rechargeable or AA batteries. The Micro LTE said it did have the 12v port right on the box so that's the one I bought. $79 on sale too. It works good, but I really wanted the dual SIM feature.
It's the exact same 12V hookup on the Flex as every other SpyPoint camera. If it weren't I would have made a big deal about the change. The Micros are nice and use far less battery as well. They just don't send as nice of thumbnails.
@@huntingscienceexplained9825 i had a client go over some bad plots with rotoriller and used it to incorporate seeds. Check it out on my yt channel its the buck forage oats one. Good results but its a bandaide. Werds will be back in spring
@@huntingscienceexplained9825 I spray clover with "Volunteer", Clethodim. Knocks out all the grasses and doesn't set the clover back. Expensive but 1/2 ounce to the gallon isn't bad. I thought it wouldn't be enough so I called the company and they promised me it would work. Wow did it bun the heck out of the weeds. Just my two cents.
@@PaulSmith-oo1qm in this case I wasn't just trying to kill weeds I was trying to set the clover back to give the brasicas time to germinate and grow. I tried to direct no till brasicas into a pure clover this year after cutting it and the results were what I expected. The brasicas germinated got a few inches tall, tellowed, then died off as the clover overtook them.
Alert. I purchased a Flex for night security. Problem is the Flex, doesn't have a custom setting like the micro. Therefore you can set it to work when you want it to. Bummer!
Complete garbage company said no alterations needed. Set on line for 2.2 hrs then got hung up on by non English speaking numb nuts.again junk if you got to modify.
Crap camera. Unless you are mounting it to a cell tower, be ready for multiple trips to the woods. It struggles to get a signal where the Spypoint Link Micros have 100% signal. Randomly stops communicating and long delays sending pictures.
Grazie
I've been using trail cameras since they first came out and Spypoint cameras since the company first started with a rather large, black white flash camera. All in all, they have been very good cameras in terms of reliability. I had one Micro that didn't work at all and a Link-S that wouldn't turn on after almost two years of continuous use and Spypoint replaced both. I recently bought five of the new Flex cameras for $149 and I have to say that I'm impressed with the trigger speed and the picture quality, although I have one that tends to over expose daytime photos. One thing I really like is the wireless firmware update, which you can initiate via the Spypoint app. Word of caution, however; check the firmware version in an area with good cell coverage before you deploy the camera. While the Flex will transmit photos with only "two bars," two bars doesn't provide sufficient bandwidth to update the firmware and it will not transmit photos while the firmware update is pending. I had to recover two cameras, take them to an area with good cell coverage and update the firmware. Both are now deployed and working flawlessly.
Yes I did at about half rate as normal. It killed off most everything except the clover. It yellowed it for a week or two then stunted it's growth for about a month. Then it was back to normal.
