Is the length of the snorkle tube regulated? seems like they have to time their out breaths to clear the snorkle. Defiantly add another level of skill. Amazing sport though.
I fully recognize that this requires skill and talent to succeed in this sport. That said , what’s confusing to me is the fact that the swimmers are really demonstrating their ability to learn a technique of swimming submerged. It’s really just another swimming stroke and it looks difficult actually. Keeping the oxygen bottle in place and moving thru the water this way is amazing. Total body engagement.
Interesting sport, first time seeing it. This is 40sec faster than 400m freestyle Olympic Gold time. Equipment for staying underwater and fins help for sure !
