I knew HM the sheick Al Maktoum in person in a strange way: He was sitted in a box of a injuried horse in 2004, in the Castiglione del lago Endurance Ride. I was in the assistance team of another horse, qualifying for the Doubai President cup, and so I was going to check it up. The Sheick was lonely, in the middle of the night with this ill horse (it was out of a colic). He really cares for his horses, even if he own I think thousands. It's unusual to know a sheick in a box without bodyguard
Out of the Middle East leaders i respect him for the passion he has for horses and horses racing. He's doing good work in building bridges between peoples. Meeting him would be an honour.
I disagree in TB horse racing. Its an evil sport in which horrible people which just think about the fame and money - and not the horse. Look how they race 2 year olds, and YEARLINGS!?! These horses have not had a chance to grow up, therefore, racing them is just destroying them, not letting them live their life fully. By age 4 or 5 they are sitting in a field or sent to a slaughterhouse because their bodies won't let them race anymore. Think about that.
Interesting leader to have such interest in horses, you don't see much of those leading people.. I like him, such passion for such magnificent and bloody fast creatures <3
Brilliant horse... Rodney Bross calls it the nicest thing he's seen since Rox Dene. Guess he'd know better than anyone ;) Rider seems all over the place though.
Through their eye you can see their heart. Hopefully he will be rewarded with the Kentucky Derby one day - you can see how much he loves the animals - it's in his blood.
