That would be very helpful as it prevents water from getting in through top of the spraydeck! However it is not a must and water at some pools may not be good if you have latex in your cag!
Hey mate, ultimately, it doesnot matter what you do with your paddle, it is only effect and achieving the movement of the boat that matters in the trick. So as long as your boat makes lunar orbit move smoothly, it is okay. My recommendation for learning the move would be keeping the blade in the water so you can constantly build the pressure on it. If you get to the point that you have to make a "stroke" by moving it on the surface - it usually means that you are behind the move and need to catch up to lead it with the body again. Of course it will be dependent on the feature and it's power! Hope it helps!
Any recommendations for if you don't have a partner or shallow end of pool to help with progression? I'm doing the dryland drills, and then edge of pool so far which I'm digging (thanks!)... 🙃
Perhaps you have another boater that you could use boat off? Anything that floats or is stable to be honest. Can be even a trunk of a tree, rock anything solid to give you a support to start off! Alternatively you can take a floater from the pool - like a board used for learning to swim. These are great for those exercises tho a little bit more advanced. If struggling you can just stuck few of them
@@kayakingunlocked Thank you for replying!! Means more than I can say. I have gotten this roll sometimes effortlessly, and sometimes not. I think it's the last part of the roll and something going on there. I had the thought the other day that perhaps I'm moving to slow with that. Does that make sense?
@@tag5504 I know what you mean however it s hard to say anything without really seeing it. However most of the times the issue is much earlier than the result that we see! So being slow at the end of the move may be caused by going too much to the side instead of under at the start. Just an example tho worth considering it this way. Good luck!
Hey Dean - there is plenty of content shared from the book as previews. Big part of it are actually the exercises that you have just seen! Additionally you can follow the link the description of the video that will lead to you more preview content of it. Hopefuly it will be tempting enough for you to get one as there is much more waiting inside! : )
Also you can follow us on instagram at @bartoszczauderna & @loveitiliveit.co.uk, as the book gets printed on 30th November there will be for sure some photos and videos shared to stories
Do you mean tucking in forward and flipping of the peak and brining the boat around by reaching back for the peak? Or more tucking to the side and getting up on the other side? Both version sort of exist! First one you need big speed tho! Literally something that would launch you off that wave. Second one is kind of like downriver helix, looks really cool but needs both speed and big wave there!
@@kayakingunlocked I think I mean on the peak, tuck forward, as if setting up for sweep roll, flip over and come up other side, so almost a sweep roll whilst airborne. In a half slice not playboat.
Thank you for your comment! It is a path that requires training and dedication! It took me years to get to these tricks, hopefully exercises here will shorten your time! There should be something for every level so keep training and you will get it one day!
@@kayakingunlocked Bartosz, do you have any plans to make a video on the sweep variation some people call a "combat roll", starting and also ending on the front deck (so your head/face is never exposed)? After learning a backdeck roll, I don't really use the sweep roll much unless I have to but that's the 1 variation I might revisit. Can't work it out on my own though.
@@kayakingunlocked wth. I don't know where my audio went earlier because I checked with another video afterwards and that was working so idk, but I hear it now. 🤦♂️
