We shouldn't let any one else who doesn't have territory in Europe or are really close to Europe join Eurovision except Australia otherwise is wouldn't be Eurovision. It would have to be renamed. I would like to see every country that has a border on the Mediterranean in Eurovision. So that would be Morocco (to return), Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Gibraltar?, Lebanon, Turkey (to return), Palestine?, Bosnia and Herzegovina (to return) and Syria. Well here's an idea, why don't we have a singing contest open to the whole entire world? That would be soo cool as we would see lots of different cultures and languages.
As far as i know Armenia and Azerbaijan also absolutely hate each other but they bothare at Eurovision so surely despit the hate they surely show each other on Television. Why can't Serbia and Kosovo do so than?
Belarus 2011. Originally Katya Langer with the song 'Running Man' has been chosen internally to represent the country. But the artist/song were replaced since the song was performed prior.
I believe Malta had a song for ESC in 1990: ‘Our little World of Yesterday’, but they were not allowed until 1991 and Malta also changed their song in 2022, like in 2016 :-)
Starac i More was my winner by a mile in 1999. I was so sad to learn that it got DQ and especially for that particular reason. Wagon Lit could have easily been the first Greek win ever in the contest. Most of the rest of the songs that eventually didn't make it on the Eurovision stage are imho, painful to listen to. When it comes to the reasons per se for not making it in the end, Andreas Kummert's case is the most unique (to put it mildly) for me.
