As a Noob to sim racing, I thought I'd share my Forza experiences, my wins, my loses and my wtf moments. I try to explain my thought process, but text to speech in my head has data corruption.
My strategy is simple, stay alive at all cost. We all know Forza motorsport can be a little dicey at times. I hope with a more passive tactic, I can swoop in and take the spot. While also improving on my own skills as a racing driver. Track learning is key, hopefully by reviewing my work, choices and my pitfalls, I can help others improve upon their lap times. Thus making the racing world more fun and competitive. Skill, balls, trail and error are key to become a better driver. For which I am looking for, I do have trail and error down well.
I do hope you all enjoy the content, Racing is great fun and helps you escape the harsh reality of the life. Jump into the comments section, I always answer. Thankyou all for looking and watching. Be safe, Race safe and again most of all have fun.
Yeah that is very true. I watch a lot of tcr. I remember a driver going over the line at turn 1 brands hatch. They got a warning to start with. Did it again a lap later and got handed 5 seconds. I was like oooofff that’s brutal.
Hwow! You can afford this guy and all copywrights! You da man! Feels bad that eveyone quit. But don't their ratings go down??? ("Hopelessly devoted to youuuuuh!")
Ah is that why half the lobby disappeared. I didn’t know that. damn that’s crazy. I have been disconnect from lobbies before and it drove me insane lol.
Of course is a WIN.... The name is "Endurance" and that word means: tolerance, patience, persistence, tenacity, perseverance, durability, tirelessness, permanence, etc... Sooo... if people don't stay for ANY reason that mean they didn't "endure"... I get what you mean about people leaving the lobby, but I think that counts as part of the "endurance" aspect ... like in real life, some people abandon bc mechanical problems, crashes and different things that dont happen here.. but we have: problems of disconection, power brakedowns, real life interference, boredome of being on first place, or frustration of being last. Those are our analogs to real racing problems.
I love that, thanks. Yeah that’s is a great way of seeing it. So instead of blowing an engine up, their console crashes, ha I love that thought process thanks. That’s going to bring a new way of seeing people leave now.
@@Flashms for me espeacially someone who leaves bc is bored of being on first place alone, is as bad player as the one who leaves bc frustation of being the last place... that only means they didn't "endure" the boredom nor frustration, and thats the whole point of "Endurance" races. Imagine that in real life... no sponsors, no teams, no fans will support that... and yes, real pilots sometimes get bored too
Exactly this is it. I mean I have videos of me tire saving like mad. Nearly in last then the last part of the race I am holding onto p1 for my life lol. Being in p1 in the first 20 mins doesn’t mean you’re going to be in p1 in the last 20. Got to keep at it.
I have another problem with endurance races - because of the low number of people playing I often get matched with racers way better than myself. My skill rating is 3600, so usually I'm left in last, and after a few laps I'm just driving alone, and I don't see another car for the rest of the race (except when they lap me lol).
Practice and try different setups or if you tune yourself try different downforces sometime low to no downforce handles better than high downforce depending the car.
That is very true. Like Thomas has said. Sometimes running little to no downforce is better than running max. Again it is all about trial and error and learning to tune. Tuning skill is key in this game. Some cars drive ok without much fiddling while most need to be changed to make stable and competitive
Ending with 2 or 3 ppl is more than the average I get when I queue up alone. (So I barely do that anymore) Often all ppl leave before the race ends and sometimes I leave when I see that I'm substantially faster than everybody else. It makes no sense to finish the race when I'm 1 lap or more ahead at the end. So I leave and try to find compensation in another lobby. The standard strategy is 2x 22min medium and 15min softs at the end. That works for the most tracks and is overall the fastest strategy. At some tracks or if you're faster you can go soft all the way. One stop hard is by far the most boring strategy and you can't make the 30min at all tracks (depending on the car too)
Being serious, I did not think it was that bad. I get sometimes the lobby isnt as strong, it really depends on the situation as like i mentioned, many will be using a different strategy. Not the first time i managed to pull a win out of the blue lmfao. ah thats good to know, I havent done enough of these types of races to figure out the best way to be on tires as of yet. Thanks for that. soft all the way, oofff lol I guess like you say it depends on the track a lot really.
I'm not sure that it'll ever be 'perfect'. Like many comments on here, I've experienced being the 'victim' in an incident only to receive a penalty when the perpetrator gets away with nothing 😡
It happens. Maybe more often than it should. But it is better than a lot of other systems. Again that’s my opinion and others may agree or disagree lol. It’ll never be perfect because it isn’t human.
Try the Levorg in the Endurance races, 3x tyre wear and I have won numerous races on a 1 stop hard tyre strategy, need to tyre save a bit and be smooth but definitely possible.
the issues with people leaving the endurance races has been around since they brought them initially in the le mans 24 hr races. I remember most races would have between 3-5 people left if lucky
penalty sistem is so ass, 2 dudes crashed in front of me I avoid a direct crash but i got hit anyway on my rear, and got 4 F..... SECONDS, like, what im supposed to do? :(
Yeah sounds about right. They have not managed to work out how to put the blame onto the right person yet. One of the most frustrating situations in the race is getting that 4 second slap. Hope it gets better for you buddy
We host community races on the weekend. Join the discord (link at bottom of description). Also when I live stream, players are welcome to join. Also there are plenty of players looking to race in the discord. May not be enough to host a full lobby but pairing up and doing online lobbies are just as fun.
Situation like that is easily preventable by "marking" cars that lost grip or made sudden change of direction, for few seconds, to invalidate penalties issued for hitting them.
Yeah that’s a very good point. As bad as it sounds, it has never entered my head to mark cars who have sudden grip issues or sudden change of direction. Great shout, that would also help identify rammers who change direction to ram you. 2 birds right there.
@@Flashms similarly marking cars that just extended track limits would prevent very frustraiting penalty when hitting someone, who cut corner way too much, and gets T-boned by properly cornering car, before going completely off track.
yea new penalty system is such a mess like it was before or should i say its even worse.........yesterday some guy hit me like 6 times in my back till i finally spun out i got 2.5sec for slide into another car while spinning and guy who hit me 6times and causes this got nothing....yea like i said works great.....
@@Flashms reportsystem is bs have to graB phone scan qr code in like 10secs ... and if you sit in a rig and phone not in direct reach no chance to report.. or is there another way
@aeppikx that’s odd. Usually the way to go is via forza support. Upload the clip or clips and give the players gamer tag and turn 10 review the incident which is usually very quick
No worries it is much better than going through Xbox. Can be a tiny bit time consuming but 9 times out of 10. They reply to you within 24h which I think is great
The penalty system is still crap…!!!! Online at LeMans…had an off in the first chicane…let off the gas…let the person that was moren then 1 sec behind me true…I let him by….and still got a 2 sec penalty…for track limits… You are sow wrong about the penalty system… It was always crap…and still is crap….!!!!
Yeah it was lmfao. I have heard many people say the frame rate has been very inconsistent at the moment. It’s weird. I mean the video of me drifting was a pain to record. The replay footage was causing some real issues and lag spikes although the cpu and gpu was hardly being utilised. So who knows what the problem is now. Defo needs a huge optimisation patch lol
Noticing it more on high speed taps and scrapes and a couple of corners that I will happily take a tiny pen for, have all been more severe. If I let off on the same corner not as much penalty or if I let off after a bump, again not as bad
Still seems to heavily favour car inputs over the actual situation itself. It’s not easy from a development standpoint I understand that. Contact penalties needs looking at really.
Well it’s hard isn’t it. Imagine a 6 year old joining an online lobby and getting bad for being a bad driver. It’s unfair to them. And it’s unfair for us to expect top level driving at the same time. Which is why the rating system needs to be adjusted and firmer to cater for top level drivers as well as others. I did suggest that you qualify then placed into a lobby based on your skill and time set. Then it’s competitive for everyone. The slower drivers won’t feel like they just got railed while the faster drivers are competing with people at their level thus the level of enjoyment for all will go up. But that’s just my opinion. Others may well have a better idea or different view
its worse. when someone in front of you loses control and reenters the track at 45 degrees going 50 mph slower (unavoidable, no time to brake) you get the 4 sec penalty, always
Yes! This more than anything needs work. I think re-entering the track and getting hit should pretty much always be an automatic penalty for the off-track car even if they were forced off by someone else. Maybe have it set to penalize that car until a counter ticks off so many seconds of on-track driving.
Oh wow, didnt realise it was you in this race. Im d3vil dave. I definitely need to practice wet weather racing as i find it bloody tough. Though, since this race. I ve played around with the levorg quite a bit. Great video!
Hey devil Dave. How are you. Yeah it’s a bit of a handful. Plus the understeer monster mg in the wet can be a bit of a handful lol. But it was one of my favourite cars. The levorg is a total beast to drive and handle. But once you get it, you’re golden lol. For me the best tcr car is the Astra. That car is a dream to handle. Just lacks a bit of power. Suits maple well in wet and dry. Each car has their own strength and weakness. I have tested and driven all of them besides the Audi. So peruse at your own will. All the best :)
@Flashms I'm good, i hope you're well. Thanks for the advice. I really do need to play around with cars more! I've been pretty basic with my car choices, and to say I've only just discovered the levorg seems like a madness. Though, With it being a rear wheel drive car, i do like the way it turns in! You're doing a great job with the vids, and I hope to see you on the track again! 👍
@@Uniteddave good to hear and I’m good thanks Hahahaah yeah I was the same. I loved the mg so much that I stuck with that car for a while. I could never drive the levorg for a long long time. So I avoid it, but now I seem to have found a new rhythm so the car seems to be behaving at the moment lol, Thank you, I am sure we will meet again :).
I think you were kind of at fault there. The penalty system saw you accelerate there and noted you up. There’s no 100% accurate penalty system but that wasn’t the example you should have shown here. It doesn’t prove your point.
Doesn’t matter. The car was out of control before I made contract. So blaming me for “avoidable contact” is incorrect which is exactly my point. 4 second is race ruining while also being incorrect. My point was proved perfectly. While as you say no system would ever be perfect and I totally agree with you. If inaccuracies are there then you don’t need to punish with near maximum punishment if there is a chance you are wrong.
Not 4 seconds. Maybe a warning but very rare would you get a penalty for that. Unless the golf went of track and even then it’s a 5050 chance. Defo the 4 seconds is for the Audi driver. It happens bud. The penalty system will never be 100 percent accurate. All it sees is me hitting the car and then the car going of track. So it presumes I put them there.
It’s super helpful isn’t it lmfao. I mean it’s just funkiness. What can you do I guess. It is such an improvement at the moment so I cannot complain really.
@@Flashms the screen names popping up when you have voice chat turned off is odd for sure. I do have voice chat on when I drive, but it’s annoying when people are just barely speaking or have background noise going so I see their name the whole time.
@Jshsprngr yeah it’s annoying and distracting lol. I do love how I muted that many people that 99 percent of all races now. The players are already muted lmfao. Got to love the one person eating the loudest food known to man. In the loudest possible way. With some sus heavy breathing into the mic lol.
My new granddaughter was born. I can't wait to spoil her. I'm already planning way ahead to buy her a drum set. Just a little payback I think is in order.
There we go, amazing news That’s smashing buddy, you have to spoil her man. Also you have to introduce her to this channel and make sure she likes a subs lol. A drum set ooofff parents are going to love you for that one. I couldn’t wait till the batteries ran out of my sons lol.
@@Flashms I adopted twins and did the Mr. Mom thing. Some people say how hard it is to raise kids. It's not hard at all if you love them lots. It's the only thing in my life that really meant something. Everything else was just window dressing.
exactly man, its not hard, all you need is to provide love and education and they will be happy. nice man ❤ thats awesome bud. it is hard of course but the reward is unmatched
I believe the system gave you a penalty there because you didn't try to slow or avoid. You keep your foot in the gas and you will get a penalty almost every time.
Yeah exactly. At the point of impact I was on half throttle. BUT besides that. Regardless of trying to avoid or not. Which was never possible, it is still incorrect as they was heading of track anyway so it’s still an incorrect penalty which is something that needs to be looked at. Even if I hit the brake I would have still slammed into the car and sent them off track, which is my argument here. It is just one of those penalties. Although 4 seconds was ruthless lol
@@Flashms Yeah I agree. Way too brutal of a penalty for making contact on an out of control opponent. Hopefully the system will continue to learn. I must say that the amount of bad penalties, in my experience so far anyways, has decreased pretty drastically.
@JadeMerkaba oh yeah i totally agree, it is so much better. I am just an idiot that if he is going to get hit, it is going to sting lol but I usually get away with a lot of mischief to so I cannot grumble lol. I would also argue that over the last few weeks the driving standards have improved a lot to. I am having some intense races at the moment. So I feel that helps overall to.
@@Flashms lol fair enough. Absolutely agree about the driving standards. I've had some great battles with fantastic drivers. To the point where I'm ear to ear grinning while racing them.
I posted exactly this the other day..guys sideways across track he clips me.i get 4 and a half seconds..and yes I agree a bad penalty system is worse that bad driving..it doesn't encourage close racing..for me anyway
No, you’re exactly right. Many people have said I can be far too passive in my driving and I lose positions because of this. Well this is my argument. I don’t want to get stupid penalties lol. Although I am becoming a little more assertive on pushy when driving. I still worry far too much. It’s race ruining.
@@Flashms and don't get me started on how quickly the safety rating going down.ive bn stuck at B for about 2 weeks🤣 coz of others bs!..and our latest series of races to do are fkn awful! ..rant over!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmfao. I gave up caring what the rating says. It goes up and down depending on the time of day, month of the year. etc lol. Not something I can control if a 6 year old sends me to oblivion. Then their dad comes in and gives me another penalty by sending me of track just for good measure lol. It’s not something I look at. Oddly enough I used to get cleaner races the worst level I was in so go figure that out lmfao
@mbrforza4601 hahahah that’s fair. I mean S-C are matched anyway. Any lower. I guess that’s survival of the fittest. Be interesting to see lol. Turn 1 must be magic there lmfao
How can a game look this bad? 4k on my 4070 rig looks like 1280p inside cockpit view. Something is fundamentally wrong about this game and its time to realy tear this mess down and rework it from the ground upp. The only thing that FM does better than for example GT7 is the weekly races wich is wery poor on GT7 in the selection.
Not defending this video at all. But to record the replay I had to lower my resolution scale because it was having a hissy fit. Nothing was more than 20 percent utilised. But this wipe seems to have introduced stability and optimisation issues. I mean you know I usually use bonnet cam and from there it doesn’t look to bad lmfao. I cannot compare to gt7 as never played it but I have heard exactly as you stated before. That gt7 weekly races is poor. But anyway Hope you’re keeping well.
@@Flashms its not your fault buddy that the game looks blurry. Ive tried every setting on my rig to set upp this game graphics on my rigg with not luck att all. And the performance opt sucks also.
@@srtspeedy4983 I must say the worst track is the Nurburgring. Omg it comes up dreadful in recording. Just constant blur. Yeah I do agree man. Far faster on console than a 2k pc lmfao. Works out right ay lmfao.
What seems unrealistic about the cars behaviour. Bear in mind all that footage was a recording of the replay. And for some reason the replay is not 100 accurate of what happens during the initial race. I noticed the front wheels seemed off compared to the original race. Things like that.
