Hi! Been following the channel now for a few weeks, just got my copy of your book. I was wondering your experience learning self taught. I’m in my 30s looking to change to coding from a nice six figure salary but not great work environment/culture. Have a family to support so can’t take too much of a step back. What is your advice on self taught and changing to this new industry with people who depend on you? Thank you and appreciate all the awesome content!!

Starting to code in C and C++ has it's own perks, it gives you a new side of things but you have to have lot of patience. C was my first programming language and then C++, i never forget those days, infact its those days that led me into a creer in software

at the moment ai can help get some starter code, code generation, writing docs, etc. so it's like having a junior dev assistant. i imagine it will get better in time. but like another poster said by the time it replaces devs it will probably replace most other professions. mean while we have to learn it

How do we get started with freelancing? What tech skills do we need? How do we go about getting clients? I feel like the world of freelance is oversaturated with cheaper services being offered overseas in places like India. I'm currently learning more backend oriented engineering and was wondering if those skills are transferable in the world of freelance?

Hi, Uncle Stef. I'm talking from Brazil. I'm 35 years old and I'm trying to start my career in Golang. I'm working on a startup in its early stages. Here I do a bit of everything, but I can't focus 100% on programming. Somehow, I'm part of the market. What do you think about Golang? What is your vision for the future of the language and the job market? I'm trying to study seriously to get a better job. I accepted this current position, but I know I need something better

Sir, where can i get resources to learn logic in coding? There is not even an example of how a mouse movement works or how to write code for these types. Its getting difficult to find about this topic. And in freelancing, which are the programming languages which has the best chance of successful freelance career for small jobs- web development languages or app development languages(both android, ios and desktop apps) or game development languages? Sir, you said go for web development in freelancing- does this apply in US only or other countries also? When freelancing on fiverr how to identify the real jobs/clients and not the fake jobs/clients? How to be safe online when freelancing? Where can i get resources to learn about api and database , stacks and frameworks? I need a less paged pdf on these. I searched on internet but couldnt find. Sir, your answers would be appreciated.

Is there a good (easy, scalable, profitable, sustainable, secure, proper) way to manage accounts (usernames and passwords). Each hosting for a website can have multiple databases and those databases can have multiple users, which means a lot of passwords. How do you store and manage passwords (and usernames) for clients?

As low and no code solutions become more of an option for small businesses, do web developers need to: 1. "niche down" for specific higher-end work with certain types of businesses that need custom functionality that the web builders can't do? or 2. become more of an "all a rounder" who does everything for a business? The developer becomes a marketer creating a "web presence" where building a website is only one part of what they are doing for a business. They might do SEO, social media, short Tik-Tok videos, product photography. I hear that many business owners are not interested in a website alone. But they are interested in a website as part of a "sales funnel" process to bring customers in to learn about and purchase their products. Your Thoughts. Thanks!

Hi Uncle Steph, I've "technically" been a Front-End Developer for the las 15 years. I've always had a strong eye for design and absolutely love coding HTML and CSS, but I always struggled with the more complex logic part of coding, like advanced JavaScript, which as a Front-End Dev is kind of a must (or has been for the last few years). It just turns out I never got myself to enjoy that part of coding. I've been really lucky over the years finding contract work within teams where I took care of the HTML/CSS part of it and the other devs did the more logic part. But it's never been sustainable. Based on a video you did recently I realized that I should have been calling myself a "Web Designer" more than a "Web Developer". So now after so many years I find myself in that "limbo" of "knowing too much code to be a designer" but "too little to be a good developer". I know you said Wordpress is a good option in cases like mine, so I'm getting into it and I kinda like it. Are there other types of work or projects you think someone like me can be really GOOD at? not just "being the Front-End dev who is great at HTML/CSS but not so much at JavaScript" which is a label I desperately wanna get rid of.

Hello, I'm a graphic designer. About three years ago, I started doing video editing, 3D modeling, and 2D animation (I learned those skills online). I also have a degree in web development, but I find myself more interested in front-end web development. I want to reach a level where I can create amazing websites with 3D elements and deep animations, as I really love that. I've learned HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (including React). Do you think it's a good idea to move from graphic design to web development, and do you think my path is right?

I find Programming enjoyable when I work on a small project unique to me. Recently I'm finding it hard to think of something I can quickly build hence I ended being very lazy to write code. I tried to just follow along a simple tutorial but I quickly give up cause it doesn't feel good to do it since it's something many people are also doing. Any way I can counteract this? I'm still a first year student in CS

I'm currently following the IBM coursera certificate for data science. I have already learned Python for Data Science and SQL. I begin college in september and i'm gonna major in computer science. So my question is, is doing a computer science bachelor is a good idea for a future datascientist? Given the fact that a lot of stuff that we learn in computer science won't really help me? Lastly, is it productive to learn datascience while doing the bachelor

Hey Uncle Stef, I am currently at the early stages of learning to code ( do not have a CS or any degree), I am in my 55 and want to change career I have give myself a time limit of 2 years to try and have a go at a career change. HTML, css and the Java Script then hopefully Python. Have paid a small fortune (4k) for a boot camp and one year to complete it, only to be given codecadmy (what rip off} which i was doing my self anyway. So I have cross learning with codecadmy and freecode camp. The trouble is these courses is the same, " change font size to this, change color to this" which makes to think you are learning. I have been at it now for 3months and I don't think I would know build a basic web page off my own back. Really need a mentor to help and push you long . What advise would you give to really start learning this. . Thanks

Hello Stefan! In the current context, what do you think which type of Master’s degree would make more sense to future-proof one’s CV/career? A Master’s in AI or one in some more classical Computer Science field (e.g. Software Engineering or Distributed Systems)? Currently I work as a front-end developer at a big corporation (with a main focus on React), but I'm considering going freelance in the future, offering web development services. The current evolution of AI makes me wonder if I should perhaps start focusing in that direction...

Uncle Stef. I want to know your opinion about Java. Does Java have future ? Or another question: Do Java developers or for example JS developers need to learn ML and all that math ? I mean will ML replace traditional coding, so will only ML engineers survive ? If short, about AI and future of engineering in general.

Makes me think of the countless videos out there where they tell beginners that "if you follow/copy this three hour Next.js tutorial you will be a fullstack developer ready for work". I doubt even Vercel uses Next for front and back. If you go on Indeed you'll see that most companies use Laravel, Spring Boot, Express, Django, and .NET as backend.
