Question: @1:31 when you are creating the bassline are you just placing the starting note at random then making a scale/ chord based on what sounds good from there. Can you explain a little bit more about the creating a basssline aspect TY! Video is amazing
Hey man, glad you enjoyed the video ,regarding your question about the bassline at 1:31: When I start creating a bassline, I don’t place the starting note completely at random. I usually choose it based on the root note of the chord or the key of the track,i follow what sounds the best with other elements that i already have. From there, I build the bassline by selecting notes within the chord or scale that complement the progression and fit the vibe I’m going for. It’s a mix of music theory and intuition i`ll play around with different notes and rhythms, listening carefully to see what sounds best and makes the groove work. Sometimes I'll experiment with notes that aren't in the chord to add some spice, but it's all about what fits the overall feel of the track. It`s a simple process just stay on note and stay groovy with your bass :)) Hope that helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me :D
