As for the AI crazy flying, it’s not the mission designers fault. He tells the aircraft (in script) to turn towards the bogie when the trigger is hit (whatever initiates it). He can’t control how the AI actually makes the plane turn. This is notorious AI flying because the AI aircraft use a much simpler flight model than you do. They can turn their jet 180 degrees, drop to 200knots and then climb straight up…exaggeration but not by much. I do agree that berating you for not keeping in formation when you know the AI is going to do dumb shit is silly. If players want to fly formation, they can. PLUS…you wouldn’t be flying that close of a formation in a combat (or potential) environment like that. You would be a mile out. My advise is just ignore it. Fly formation best you can, KEEP YOUR DISTANCE b/c the AI will just turn right into you, take your 100% mission score and ignore her bullshit
Haha......good stuff. Yeah, I am almost done with the campaign and the "Get on my wing ET!" lines aren't bothering me as much anymore. I know making these missions is tough. Very complicated stuff.
It actually is a pretty standard thing to refuel after takeoff; from carriers anyway. The reason is that if you are carrying a significant loadout of weapons, then having full internal and external tanks makes it REALLY hard (if not impossible) to get the jet up to the speed it needs with the catapult. But, jf you launch with empty external tanks, you carry all those bombs and still get airborne. Other times, you are just “topping off” since takeoff and claimb uses a lot of fuel. You will really extend your range if you start at 20,000ft with full fuel.
When air traffic control informs you of continue approach number two, it means you are the second aircraft on final approach, there is an aircraft preceding you on short final, which is referred to as number 1.
The flight lead, Judge….didn’t get any kills on my attempt. Now I gotta go try it again. I’m not sure if Judge’s missiles even work. I saw in your video that it seemed like his Fox 3 just disappeared like you mentioned.
Im getting stuck on mission 5, with Queen getting stuck on the deck of the carrier with another hornet and not being able to get to CAT 2 and take off, ruining the whole mission bc without her, i cant contact JTAC or anything, any tips to prevent her getting stuck? or?
I will go do the beginning of mission 5 here in a sec and see if I have the same problem. Perhaps the giant update from ED messed something up in the campaign? But I didn't have that problem. The only tips I can give you are to do what I did which is to run an auto start sequence instead of doing a manual cold start. You do that by pressing Windows key + Home. And then as soon as your INS is switched to NAV, press the spacebar to indicate to Queen that you are ready to go. Also make sure your GRCV (Guard frequencies) are turned on both your radio channels.....I doubt that has anything to do with your problem but it is something that the mission requests that you do. But there shouldn't be another hornet fighting with Queen to takeoff from Cat 2.....that's strange.
@@BooliusGoozlurok I’ll try that. And the other hornet was just parked, and Queen lowered her wings right before her right wing catches on the parked hornets nose
@@jeffscott8718 Alright....so I just went and checked.....and unfortunately, I am now having the same problem. It was the big update that just was released. Something is now not jiving with the old mission script. So, Sandstorm or whatever they are called, the guys that made the campaign, need to be notified so that they can fix it. On the upside, Mission 7 now loads up for me so I am going to try to play it and have my fingers crossed that problems on the carrier take off aren't represented now in all of the missions.
@@BooliusGoozlur doing an auto start sequence wouldn’t matter because my jet isn’t the issue, it’s Queens jet lowering her wings and then snagging her right wingtip on a parked hornets nose.
