Wow, amazing. Love this anime. That guy with the big crab looking knife looks really cool. I wonder if he was just an android or a member that just went through the process of getting modified and cyberized in such a way. So interesting :D
I was very disappointed in this scene when I first saw it. I mean, Batou and Togusa enter the Yakuza hideout and start blasting. I wanted a long shootout but Batou finishes them off in like 30 seconds. Then a giant cyborg with swiss army arm appears. I wanted a long fight but Batou finishes him off in like 30 seconds. That was 20 years ago. Now I see the true genius of the scene. Batou is a goddamn tank. There's no reason for him to drag these fights, he's the best of the best so obviously he'll just walk over them. It's only now that I noticed many awesome details, like 1:59 the guy using a badass cannon he obviously didn't train with much, because the recoil from the only shot he fired made him knock himself out. Awesome.
Oh man, what a cringey translation. "That son of a b INFILTRATED our vision!". What a mouthful - and comes so unnaturally out of a gangster's mouth. The subtitled translation "that ahole hacked our eyes!" was so much better. Many places like this in this hack of an English dub. "Bring it on crab - you aint too bright if you want to dance with me" vs "let's see how tasty you are, crab". All thise lengthy lines that make Batou look like a cheap braggard.
I noticed something about this film. There are two Eng dubs. Some people's voices got replaced, and Bato and Togusa's vocal pitch is a lil deeper,also changes in the wording of the script. Kinda odd.
