I have one of these on a lightweight 4.5m aluminium boat and it’s nowhere near that fast. Struggles to get up on the plane. I’m wondering what my issue could be 🤔

We had a 1976 version of this motor. A gem! I think it was a 4 cylinder. Very smooth, very reliable.

I have this motor on a 1967 Starcraft that I restored last summer. It's a 13 foot aluminum boat. So lightweight that it flies. I think it's faster than my brother in laws fiberglass ski boat that has a 350 V8

I got a Mariner 50 hp it looks and runs just like this one. I had a 115 in a different boat. The 50 isn’t as mean but it will hit 50 on the water. The 115 would do around 75 maybe 80 I never got the balls to go full throttle.
