What a great trip you took. Just for information, Fridays and Saturdays are the best days with the best atmosphere on Paseo Chapultepec, many activities such as dancing, live music, etc. Sundays are much more relaxed. I agreed with everything you said except at the end, because the Colonia Americana is more for young and SINGLE people than for retired people. Just that small observation, otherwise everything is great.
Thank you for this wonderful tour of Guadalajara. I lived in a large house on Lopez Cotilla, 1/2 block away from Chapultepec from 1956-1959. At that time, it was truly s quiet, calm neighborhood, with many colonial style homes and modern homes mixed together. We also had many large trees on the sidewalks. Many years, after I left, I discovered that I lived in a house built by one of the most famous architects in Mexico, Luis Barragan. Only one block from my home, I attended The American School, which was a huge colonial style home that they had turned into a school. The front entrance of the school faced the calle Vallarta. Both my home and the school building were torn down in the 1980s, and replaced with buildings with no aesthetic beauty, that looked like cracker boxes. There were no cafes or restaurants in my neighborhood; there were a few places of business on Chapultepec. The only night activities at that time, were the Sunday night strolls down the center of Chapultepec, where guys and gals walked around and visited with each other. The center of the street was similar to what I saw on your video, but the trees were much larger, and they had beautiful globe-like incandescent street lights; giving the area a wonderful warm ambience. What wonderful memories of an absolutely beautiful, and unforgettable city! I had the privilege of living there for 16 years.
Nice video. Are there areas of Colonia near the cafes, shops, groceries markets in quiet areas? How is the weather and air quality? Do poorer Mexicans resent the atmosphere of Colonia?

If you enjoy the basics of shooting with a film camera, then the X100T is still a good option. Fantastic images and a great set of core features to help you master photography (general principles). My next camera will probably be the X-T5.
Alexander i cannot find in my menu how to match my evf settings with my screen display. the display custom setting in the menu ONLY changes the screen. trying to remove the ex comp in the evf on the left. cannot find in my xe1 menu. thx. great af tip on manual focus dial.
Take care of them and they will last you longer then 3 to 5 years. I had mine in laces for 7 years now and they are still going strong. Although I don't use them much anymore. I have been using Winning lately
well, the centro area is kind of dead because of three things. +the construction of the subway kept closed a few years av Alcalde that had most of the life +covid +for a few years other governors had the centro area too dirty
Thank you. Much enjoyed. We are wondering what the differences there is between the different areas in GDL like between Americana, Chapalita and other areas around Centro. Like walkability, rent, food, things to do. Etc... look forward to seeing more content from you!!!
Alex - thank you for the video of Guadalajara, love all things Guadalajara! Great to see you and get to know you but 25 minutes of your face, well even the cutest is too much, it would be great to see where you're going what's ahead of you more like a tour rather than where you've just been. Just sayin'! Thank you!
Do you know if this hack would work if I am using a non-fuji lens with an adapter (OM lens for example)? I am contemplating buying a fuji camera with this hybrid viewfinder for is particular feature since I have a hard time focusing with the optical viewfinder of my canon camera.
Hi - I know this video is a few years old, but I have an X100T and I'm wondering how the sound using the Rode VideoMicro compares to using the camera's internal microphone. Thanks.
i just received my x100t and discovered your video randomly while searching for beginner videos. i must say i really love the way you passionately speak about photography, the sense behind it and even though these were no specific technical tips it really gave me some good information and ideas. thanks for that :)
This vid is one of the most beautiful I've seen photographically speaking. Great look to this shot. the content is great but the look is amazing! keep up the great work.
I'm three years late, but I just lost you at 5:20. Which lever are you referring to? I somehow can't figure this out.. Thanks a lot for the reply, great tips.
Alexander Grunder took the time and effort to share his thoughts on the X100T, a camera I just acquired. I appreciated his insights about zone focusing. I appreciated his insights on the use of shutter speeds. I appreciated the video quality of the vid which was shot entirely on the X100T. Kirk Williams-I'm not sure what your thoughtful comment added to the conversation.
That's basically how you had to focus with the old X-Pro1 (Adam Bonn had a good blog series on that, several years back) and X100S. IMHO the ERF is an improvement over that because it doesn't block out the entire view finder.
What a useful tip! Avoids having the electronic rangefinder patch encroaching into the frame. Had my X-pro2 for 2 years and didn't realise you could do this!
The best video on these functions (AF, MF, focus peaking and how they all match together with the BBF and the shutter release). Very very well explained: why hasn't any body else filmed this yet?? Many many thanks to you, I feel I'm going to enjoy my X-Pro2 even more now.
There have been blogs on this for many years now ... BBF and focussing this way (OVF/EVF focus check switch) used to be the best way on the old X-Pro1 already.
