Very reminiscent of Alex North - excellent part writing for the winds (fairly intricate stuff). A lovely scherzo idea, almost at odds with the substance of the main two montages it's used with in the film. I always liked the juxtaposition of such optimistic and lighthearted "spring day" music with the "serious business" going on in the film - when the young fellow succeeds in completing his "gadget", I remember the strange feeling of triumph and horror underscored by this music of unconcerned jollity, which seemed reflective of the protagonists's state of mind and detached from the gravity of his creation. Very effective.
Yeah same hear..very catchy tune...Although I was young in elementary school (5th or 6th grade) and not super into the show..I was tranquilized to the Gimme a Break theme when it came on...I literally melt back into the 80'ds when I hear it.....Its become a little gate-way to the past for me....
Great movie, wish the soundtrack was available on Apple music. Nothing will come close to what we had in the 80s. They should have done a sequel of this movie.
