A man travels to Japan to finally buy his child dream car, an AE86 which gained popularity from a 90's anime called "Initial D". He found the cheapest AE86 in non running condition which cost him 2936500 yen, about $20,000 USD. He then devotes all his energy into restoring it for the next few months. He then gets the opportinuty to meet his childhood hero, an inspiration, a legend named Keiichi Tsuchiya, who popularized the art of drifting and had influenced many JDM car enthusiasts not just in Japan but also in America, Europe, Middle East and many other parts of the world. The main character in Initial D Takumi Fujiwara was also inspired by him. Then he wanted to recreate one of the popular battles from Initial D in real life and challenges a Mazda RX7 to a touge battle in the mountain roads of Mt. Haruna which is the real version of the fictional Mt. Akina.
