this means that its doing its job, its the sacrificial rod so it gets oxidized instead other parts in the tank!

It never hurts to check, especially if you're unsure of the last time it was done. I know we've had our RV 4 years now and it was never done, but full time useage is different than seasonal useage. These rods are fairly in-expensive. RV stores are charging the price for 2 compared to Amazon. We have them linked up on our online store: everythingrvsandmore.store/products/oneness-369-rv-magnesium-anode-rod-2-pack-for-rv-water-heater-compatible-with-suburban-models-ensures-longevity-9-25-x-3-4-npt

I have one of these valves in my RV and I can't access it to take it off to clean it. Can I put a soft bristle brush down the sink drain to loosen the debris or would it damage the flap when going past it and then pulling the brush back out? Or, is there a better way to accomplish the task that I should try?
@jeremydenesovych
@jeremydenesovych 6 месяцев назад
If there is 0 chance of accessing to remove, then I'd suggest putting 1/4 cup of baking soda down the drain, let it sit, then add 1/4 cup of vinegar to it (or enough until its stops bubbling). Shortly after this, flush it with hot water until it drains properly. The soft bristle brush is not a bad idea, but the recommendation is to have it removed, and think of it like 1-way traffic. "Go with the flow" if you will. The flap is a silicone rubber so it theoretically shouldn't damage, but best not to take any chances.

First good wind and that stuff is gone
@jeremydenesovych
@jeremydenesovych 7 месяцев назад
Thanks for your comment! We have had 0 issues even when the wind appears. Been doing this 3 winters this way, been good each time. Tell me though, in areas where it may be more of an issue and gusting alot, any hacks or suggestions on how to keep it from flying away? The tape we uses stays fairly adhesive to the trailer and with added weight on the folds we do find it does the trick. :)

It doesn't take much either does it. I'm thinking of switching tape though.

Update: Since this video last year, I obtained a leak this year mid hose. I cut the blue casing off and found that the hose itself was bulging, due to the constant heat in slightly above 0 degree weather. I still recommend this hose or other variations, but please beware that problems could arise over time as it happened to me.

I was looking into this hose to use for my kids’ outdoor water splash park. The water gets so cold that they end up not really enjoying it. Would you recommend this hose for that use too? Can you regulate the heat?
@jeremydenesovych
@jeremydenesovych 7 месяцев назад
@@MrMarz82 Negative. This hose only keeps the temperature of the hose at a constant temperature, it doesn't regulate the water temperature as suggested. Although not a bad idea, I wouldn't recommend as all you will get is a short blast of "warm water" at best, followed by the constant cold water flow that you feel all the time from most outdoor taps. The only way I'd suggest to do what you're thinking is to get a water heater, as it has nothing to do with keeping your hose warm, and actually controls the water temperature from those cold water taps (if thats all you have). For this, there is really only 1 option: A tankless water heater or on-demand unit. I have 2 suggestions of where you could go about getting something like this: 1) Our online strore: everythingrvsandmore.store/products/3500w-electric-instant-shower-bath-hot-water-heater?ToPasteBoard& or 2) (affiliate link) www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=150674&userID=3446642&productID=1361880461 Good luck!

Just curious but was this fitted vertically or horizontally?
@jeremydenesovych
@jeremydenesovych 10 месяцев назад
I'm going to say about a 10 degree slope horizontally. The way it's designed, the rubber flap inside is made of silicone and is supposed to act as a suction cup every time the flow stops going through. That's my understanding of it. But when food build up, over time, stops that from happening, it's time to remove, do a clean up, and put back together. It's been working great ever since I did this video. Now, another thing I should mention is, this is on our RV. Apparently they can be used for household use as well. Hope this helps.
