Welcome to the ICFSD Our Children Our Way Society's RU-vid Channel.

We represent 24 Indigenous Child and Family Service Agencies in British Columbia. We work to ensure that the best interests of Indigenous children are being met. We advocate for systemic changes to policy, practice, legislation and funding. We address issues that have a province-wide impact, with a view to providing a collective, First Nations voice.

In 2024, historic changes in Indigenous child welfare are underway. Our Nations are creating and breathing life into their own child & family laws. Indigenous rights are now enshrined in provincial legislation. The Caring Society and the Assembly of First Nations negotiated a final settlement to end Canada’s discrimination against First Nations children. We are building better futures for our children, grounded in our own ways and in our Nations’ inherent rights.
