Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) removes barriers to justice through free civil legal help, community engagement, and advocacy for equitable laws. Our vision is for a fair legal system that is free of injustice and equitably serves underrepresented Marylanders.
MVLS matches one client and one pro bono volunteer. MVLS provides free legal assistance for those that income-qualify. Our panel of more than 1,600 volunteer attorneys, CPAs and enrolled agents help clients with family law disputes, housing and consumer cases, estate planning and administration, criminal record relief, and income tax issues. When individuals are left to navigate the confusing legal system on their own, their outcomes are often negative. With the help of volunteers, who work beside them throughout the entirety of their legal matters, it ensures that their voices are fully heard in their legal problem.
HI, I was hired by a company in Delaware during pandemic when I lived in Michigan. And I was told to work from home during pandemic ( Feb 2021 ~ Aug 2022). But there were state tax withheld for both states in my payroll and record of W2 forms during this time. Question: Am I eligible to file for a refund of the Delaware state taxes that were withheld while I was working remotely from Michigan., since I physically worked and lived in Michigan during that time and did not perform any work in Delaware (had no Delaware-sourced income during those periods). Really appreciate it. Thank you.
So possession with intent to distribute a very small amounts of Marijuana is not eligiblefor expungment at all ? Or is it 15 years ? Or is it reduced under this Redeem act ? Thank you Very Respectfully
You'll need to record a new deed indicating that your name has changed. In Maryland, a deed has to be drafted by an attorney or a party to the transaction. It's definitely recommended to consult an attorney instead of trying to do it yourself just so that you don't make any unintentional changes. But, it's probably easier just to leave it in your old name. You'll just have to show your marriage license whenever you need to assert your ownership.
Hi Asia, I inherited my father’s home in MA. The house was in active foreclosure. I needed a place to live post divorce with my children. This past month I was able to get the home out of foreclosure with HAF funding, in addition to a $15K payment I made on the account to bring it current. I JUST learned that this mortgage is a shared appreciation mortgage. I have never heard of this before, but now I’m questioning this huge decision I made. I have not yet assumed the mortgage, although I paid my first monthly mortgage payment in January. I have some questions related to this topic if anyone can help me with this?
CDS-MANUF IS THE CHANGE I NEEDED SO THIS DOSENT HELP ME AT ALL I ONLY HAVE ONE FELONY NO MISDEMEANORS ITS BEEN 20YRS I HAVEN’T BEEN IN ANY TROUBLE SINCE THEN AND THERES STILL NO RELIEF FOR ME 😕
Is it Marijuana? If so, you can get it expunged. Go to the site, because while I was on it the other day, I believe I saw something about CDS being fine to expunge. Just go to the county website and it should say on the form.
Good day! I was approved for the program, and received one credit to my account. I understood there would be monthly stipends? And I was to reapply yearly? What's my status? Thank you
Wish they didn't do this due to baby mama failure to take my son and jail me multiple times Showed clear motive but not anymore. Still have a STET case 2 assault from 2008 so according to Maryland I'm a POS not worthy of protecting my son and property via 2ndxamendment.
Provide all the documents, verify they were received, notate the dates of every sent email and phone call and then write the controller if they have any delays.
Extremely informative because many homeowners make improvements to their homes and have no idea that these resources are available to them. It's unfortunate that the state of Maryland does not advertise so that homeowners understand these important resources available to them. Thank you for a very useful video, take care.
