thank you so much for the video , i did have a question which finishing pad did you use? I cant seem to find the warrior anywhere online or at harbor freight.. i did purchase the rest of the products you detailed in the video and look forward to seeing how it comes out
So sorry on the delay getting back to you ! You are right I did a search and the only way to find the pad was on eBay. I assume warrior stopped making it. Because Bauer did not have a waxing pad, ( the reason i went to the warrior.) I did notice on amazon that McGuire's offers a polish pad. keep me posted on how things turn out 😄
I am so grateful for this Video.. I bought the same Harbour Freight Polisher, Pads, and MeGuiar's Compound & Polish as demonstrated by you.. The Claying process did an amazing job lifting the dirt & debris particles out of the Paint.. I also cleaned the exterior after this process as well.. I made my own IPA solution which I used after the Polishing Step -- this really cleaned up the little smears and excess compound and Polish... Where I did a bit different was the Waxing portion.. I used a Wax called Pinnacle Souveran which I applied by hand, and is easily wiped off almost immediately after application with a MIcrofibre Towel... Incredible product..You were also spot on as far as time --- it took me just under 7 hours to do the work (including Trim & Windows)... The Truck I did was my 2000 Red F150 Lightning.. It came out absolutely stunning...This Vid gave me the confidence and great instruction to do this -- which was my first time... Thanks for posting
I am so happy to hear you enjoyed the video and followed the process. I will have to check out the wax you mentined. always looking easier and better products !! thanks for the comment !!😁
This is the video I needed to find! No fancy crap with all the other tutorials, just a guy getting down to it and showing us how it’s done. I got all the products you have in the video minus the Hercules polisher. I went with Bauer and am a lot more confident about polishing my vehicles thanks to your video.
Looking at the tool in store, the speed adjustment dial felt very plasticy cheap and not tactile and clicky like some of their other polishers…did this bother you at all when using? I think I’m down to this or the Dewalt cordless(I know you mentioned your a Dewalt guy too)…did you consider that one too in your buying decision?
The speed dial has just enough (clicky fill) to hold it nicely into place. But moves with very little effort. What I really like is the placement. The manufacture has it placed in a very comfortable position to adjust with your thumb. That having been said... i am a cabinet maker with well over 100 dewalt tools. my wife refers to me as a dewalt whor.... well you get the jest. I was spectacle at first but after many hours of use polishing with this tool it convinced me. I would not hesitate to try another hercules tool !! :). it was WELL worth the money !!!
Hello…just wondering, I’m getting ready to paint my existing cabinet boxes and after thoroughly cleaning is it necessary to prime them? I’m going to be painting them satin white.
To make a recommendation it would depend on how you are painting your cabinets. If you are painting them with latex paint and a brush. The first thing I would do is not only to clean them. But areas around the range you would want to remove any grease build up . Those areas I would clean with denatured alcohol. Also areas around hardware. If you fell a stickiness in those areas you are seeing a break down of finish. Those areas must be removed of finish. Next purchase fine sanding sponges from Sherman Williams ( 3 m brand). Scuff sand the entire cabinets and doors. ( you are not removing the finish you are giving the paint something to cling to) a good sign is that you are dulling the finish. Next primer then pain 2 coats of paint. If you have taken the cabinets down and you are going to spray them then… prepare the same as above then use M.L.Campbell clawlock primer let dry 45 min. scuff sand. Then two coats of M.L.Campell paint 45 mininites between coats. Wait 1 hour then 1 coat of M.L. Campbell Krystal dull ( this is a clear top coat with about a 15% sheen) all of the recommended M.L.Campbell products I recommended are post catalyzed ( this requires 10 percent catalyst ) ) Hope this helps !! If you are spraying in a area above 75 degress i would add 10 percent of M.L.Campbell retarder to all the finishes ( slows dry time)
Got a quote to do some paint correction on an older car. They wanted $900 plus $300 for a ceramic coat. If you have a low-risk project like mine, can't see why it's not worth at least being cautious and patient by grabbing the HF items to do the job yourself. Even if it takes me 6 hours to do the car, after subtracting costs, I'm still coming out $100 / hr in my time, and the tool is free at that point.
When I was younger I hand waxed my cars. BUT this process brings a hole new life to paint. Yes it is time consuming but the results are priceless. I have purchased tools my entire life. I was a little apprehensive when buying this polisher BUT the quality is astounding !!
@@ThatISPerfection Thanks for the review. Picked one up yesterday. Perfect timing because harbor freight had a coupon for this polisher for $100 before tax.
I bought this after watching your video. This really IS a great machine at a bargain price. I'm still trying to figure out what the 2 included phillips head screws are for.
Awesome video. I have been a fan of the original Flex 3401 but am going to buy this polisher because its suppose to be just like it at a way cheaper price. Never used there pads will give them a try very nice video.
Love that you decided to start a channel and share your knowledge with us! Guys with experience in the industry is what we need on RU-vid. No hate for the entertainment cabinet makers but I want to know tricks and advice from guys who make a living from there shop not just RU-vid. Keep it up! Liked and subbed.
Thanks so much for the comment. Exactly what i was hoping for !! I want my channel to be about teaching . Trying to pass on what i have gained by hands on. keep posted i will be sharing more as time becomes available.
shop is 38 x 60 if you include the area that is elevated where small equipment is on and also the compressor behind the door to the left and restroom that is about 8x8 by compressor. Thanks for question. Its small but I ma proud of, have turned a lot of beautiful jobs out of there !!
Followed your instructions and the results are amazing - car looks new! It’s harder work than I expected so hats off to you and other detailers out there - you definitely earn those $’s. Can’t imagine how long it took your van. Great video - really do appreciate it.
You do know you just wasted 90% of your compound. Use pad conditioner start, let it soak into the pad for 5 minutes then add 4 or 5 dime side drops of product onto the pad. Some will rub the product into the pad, some just dot the pad into vehicle in several spots to distribute the product. Do not just turn on polisher because most of the product on the pad WILL be spun off in every direction.
Evidently you did not do your homework. on my chancel I do a detail of a whole car and a 14' box van. with over 31,000 views !! and positive comments!!
What if you don't have a smartphone? Does it have automatic 2 sided printing? More importantly, can you replace the cotton pads that absorb ink when the printheads need cleaning? I've read that if those pads are full the printer will not work unless they're replaced. Also, you didn't peel off the paper on the top of the printheads, I'm surprised that didn't cause a problem.
Amah about to do this with the cordkess version of this polisher. Have 2x 5Ah batteries and 1x 8Ah battery with their super quick charger. Those Bauer German made pads are amazing!
Great video sir! Thank you for showing how to perfectly build and install a laminate countertop with rounded edged in order to make it really look like granite etc! I have a project I am working on for a customer and I am new to it. Your video is all I needed! Thank you sir! Greetings from Killeen Tx!
So glad you enjoyed the video !! The beveled edge top is the closest thing I have found to the look of real granite. A top your customer can afford with out breaking the bank. just make sure to silicone the backsplash and the glue on the molding fully covers the back of molding epically at the sink area and it will be as durable as any other laminate top out there !!
yes this is a great polisher for beginners to professionals for more info see my review of the polisher ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z-6r6Av28Sk.html

That was a very good tutorial on how to polish a car! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge! I’m getting ready to try my hand at paint correction on my own vehicles.
