Another great episode John. Reminds me of Fr. Larry Richards exhorting us at a men's conference that God is Always talking to us, we just have to listen and do what he's calling us to do. I think that is why we feel we have to always be doing something, because God puts into our mind things to do in the present. We can't demand that God tell us what he wants us to do in the future, or how to respond to things that have happ;ened in the past. We need to be patient like you said and do what he's telling us to do today. Whenever I go to adoration I usually can't stay more than 10 minutes because I feel him telling me what he wants me to do right NOW, so I get up and go do it. Whenever I feel that I don't know what to do next, that's when I know God is telling me to take a rest! Rest in the Lord! That is when I stop and watch a video like yours and just wait in rest until God puts into my mind when he wants me to get up and do something. That is when I can pause a video like yours and go do it and come back later to resume the video when it's again time to rest in the Lord.
Please adjust the audio levels of your podcast so that everyone's audio is at the same/similar level of loudness. Your guests are often much quieter than you, as with this one. But I enjoy your shows!
Thank you, Lord, because today I have been in touch with the faith that everything can get rights to whom prevails from the target of the darkness in the world 🌎 🙏
Lots of good advice John. Got me to realize that since going on the Pilgrimage to Italy earlier this year with you, I felt God calling me to not go on more Pilgrimages, but rather to go on Missions, but without fully realizing it until just now, that's exactly what I'm doing right now, spending 5 weeks at my son's house doing home renovations that he cannot do himself and cannot afford to pay to have done. I get 100-fold payback from the fruits of the spirit doing what I love by helping others do what they cannot do. I also get to spend time with my son when he's not at work, but also with his stay-at-home wife and my 3-year-old granddaughter. His house has lots of additional projects that I won't be able to get to during this trip so looks like I'll be coming back again and again. Oh, and this time I've learned that my son is a now daily communicant, and he went to confession for the first time since his teenage confirmation, and he now feels compelled to supplement his civil marriage by promising his Pastor to have a Catholic Marriage as soon as his wife gets Confirmed herself, with him being her RCIA sponsor. All this is part of the 100-fold reward for doing daily what I feel God is calling me to do. I also feel God telling me to give him a Jesus Calling daily devotional. His birthday is later this week so it will be part of his birthday gift, and I will suggest that he and his wife read it together daily when they are putting my granddaughter to bed.
Utter nonsense, Catholicism is Not Christian. They worship and pray to marry not to mention they promote the "Trinity" wich does Not exist. One Lord One Faith One Baptism. ✌️
It is! Blessed to be close to many priest including my buddy Fr. Malachy. Priests need brotherhood and authentic friendships too. Don’t be afraid to pursue brotherhood and friendship with the priests in your area!
What a beautiful conversation! Thank you to both of you for meeting all of us through your vulnerability! I could only see the congress through the internet, but it looked incredible, so grateful. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I just heard your amazing testimony on Stefanick’s RU-vid channel, “by chance!” AMAZING!! Then I found “this podcast” and now here on RU-vid! This message is life changing and altering and I am so happy to be able to tell you!! I will now, forever, see “the road” more clearly than I have EVER before!! I have often found myself discouraged and disgruntled in my walk because my expectations were “incorrect all along!!” THANK YOU!!! I mistakenly thought “feeling blessed” was the norm and the “hard stuff” was almost like being abandoned by God! I do now get that that’s what the narrow road IS LIKE!!! Wow!!
Wow! Thank you for the kind words and for looking us up. I’m so glad this show helped you! Thank you for subscribing to the channel and for taking the time to comment. Please share it with others! God bless you!
Acts10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Ephesians 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 1John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
There was so much going on but I was able to catch the end of your live podcast. When will you be putting up the video so I can catch the first part of that podcast?
Hey @kellymarkos! Thanks for stopping by to see us. We are waiting on them to give us the video and audio of the show. It takes a minute for them to edit and put all the audio together. As soon as we have it we will put it out so stay tuned to the channel and our email to find out!
@@justaguyinthepew thanks a bunch. My wife and I are looking forward to watching the first part that we missed. Keep doing what you do. Praying for you and your ministry!
John, thank you so much for this episode and for being vulnerable. I had a VERY similar crisis of faith after one of our miscarriages. I also was extremely angry at God for the loss. It took many years and lots of healing to trust Him again. I recently lost a good friend to suicide and my relationship with the Lord has given me much more peace working through the grief.
It was great meeting you during your visit to St Paul the Apostle parish in Westerville, OH, several months ago that followed on the heels of the Columbus Catholic Men’s Conference where you were a presenter.
Lord Jesus provide complete healing for Fr James Martel. We trust your Divine providence and know you can heal him from kidney cancer. Jesus, we trust in You!
I tried winning the battle with addiction, and I failed every time until I gave it to God and let him win the battle for me i’ve been sober for eight months
Another great episode! I absolutely love that quote from Bl. Carlo Acutis. Thanks for sharing. I also really enjoyed your stories from the pilgrimage. I'm unfortunately not able to join you this year on either trip, but I'm wondering if you can recommend any pilgrimage sites in the U.S. I'm next door in Missouri and would love to make some day/weekend trips. Thanks in advance!
Thank you brother! Maybe one day you can go with us! There are a bunch. Our Lady of Champion outside of Green Bay. They also have the Shrine to St. Joseph there at the Norbertine College. Our Lady of La Leche in St Augustine Fl. There are many!
Thank you, Fr. Jacob, a true gift to share with those who we have been entrusted to accompany, to hear the voice of the Lord and respond! I'll be sharing with my Regnum Christi encounter with Christ team and all those I spiritually direct!! I'm very blessed to have you as my friend!
I’m 35, married, and I can still VIVIDLY recall my father actually tearing me down and criticizing me after a 7th grade basketball game through the YMCA. I unfortunately learned how to not be a dad at times from my own father which to a certain extent, I think I’m thankful for now. I forgave my father in my heart for that and many other things and I still love him, but these words we speak to one another are not easily forgotten. I wonder if my dad was active in his faith life if things would have been different. Bless all of the supportive dads and parents out there.
