I don't know why I never thought to look up HG Wells speaking. I read most of his books between the ages of 12-14, I was enraptured. His voice is charming, as are his works.

This is from National Lampoon’s White Album. My brother bought this in the 80s and me & me friend would play this record and laugh our asses off. On more than one occasion for years I would call out sick to work and say I had California hot tub rectal gonorrhea

At the time of this interview, Citizen Kane had already been filmed, yet not released. Hearst and his minions were trying to get RKO to not release it at all. Orson wasn't sure what was going on at this point.

this is fascinating. never heard Orson talk at length this young. very kind of H.G to ask him about Cane and express genuine interest. amazing when you consider the age gap and how unconventional that movie would end up being.

HG Wells was born in 1866. Just think about that for a minute. Orson Wells died in 1985.

Sounds like Orson Welles was describing television to HG Wells. A shMe he didn’t live to see the wonders that came after the war. Or seeing how blind stinking drunk Orson Wells can get shooting a wine commercial.🤣

"Mr Hitler made a good deal of sport of it, you know? So actually spoke of it in the great Munich speech, you know?" "He hadn't much else to say." HG Wells: master of science fiction and sick burns on Nazi scum.

Even so, when he says that part about Americans not having the war under their chins - as a consequence "You can still play with ideas of terror" I thought brought up some really interesting ideas aroun Welles famous radio production. It's widely accepted that the reaction to the Orson Welles radio broadcast of The War of the Worlds, was due in part to the deeply held fears of what was happening in Europe at the time. People feared the rise of Hitler and fascism, so when they heard the live broadcast some of them genuinly believed that it had something to do with this and went into a panic, never mind that martians were mentioned not Nazis. This was an age when nobody had ever heard anything so "Vivid" on the radio and it turned out to feel more than that, it felt real - paranoia and fear spread, people's reason went out the window and that was that...

Just plain amazing the point in history this is and the historical meeting. HG Wells, the prolific author meeting Orson Well(e)s the future famous actor and director after the broadcast of War of the World when the world itself has just entered the second World War after the first already brought many of the horror's of HG's novel to reality and before Orson's groundbreaking Citizen Kane is released. Just very interesting to see an important moment in time captured like this.

The power of fake news was proven without doubt. And the anti-German hate campaign to promote WW2 went full blast. Orson was identified as a child genius in his own right by a jew. After Orson's blood father conveniently committed suicide he was adopted by that member of the Rothschild syndicate.

Two New World Order devils, specially H.G., who advocated liquidating millions of men, women and children, even billions, in order to usher in his fascistic banker's "paradise." He was a devil of a man, not to be praised or put on a pedstal, a lackey of central bankers, a shameless promoter of ONE-world government, which can only be fascistic, as anything that has a monopoly on power lends itself easily to tyranny. As such, he was a propagandist of the worst kind.

Gosh! all of a sudden, their works are horrible and no longer worth reading or viewing. Personal beliefs of artists totally determine the value of their work.
@rayparsa3069
@rayparsa3069 6 лет назад
restcure ... HG Wells was uniquely anti-human and uniquely connected to the ruling cabal that has suffocated and tortured humanity for centuries. HG Wells predicted (and named) "atomic" weapons, GMOs, and man going to the moon in the very early years of the 20th century. How did he know all that by 1913? Because he was privy to and trusted by the highest strata of power, most evil secret societies on the planet, devils who think the average person has as much value as a fruit fly.
@restcure

Sounds like a synopsis of The Sleeper Awakes. I should read that again - haven't read it since high school: been a few decades
@rayparsa3069
@rayparsa3069 6 лет назад
restcure ... And yes, you're absolutely correct, personal beliefs of artists are very important in determining their ultimate worth. Recently, I found out that JD Salinger ("Catcher in the Rye") was bunk-mates with none other than Henry Kissinger during WWII, in the OSS, the precursor to the CIA. Then I find out that the book is an homage to freemasonry and promotes teenage rebellion, even pedophilia. This is the same book that the would-be assassin of Reagan and the assassin of Lennon had on them, no doubt it's a weapon of mind control. Needless to say, I was disgusted for loving "Catcher in the Rye" for all these years! Salinger was definitely a fraud. That book was probably not even written by him, probably written by a team of CIA writers, which is perhaps why Salinger was such a hermit and never wanted to talk about the book. Jack Kerouac was another phony like Salinger, promoted by the ruling elite to degrade the culture (him and his heroin-induced pornographic "Beat Generation"). I have very few heroes left, if any.
