AMC is Arka microbial consortium which is developed by us at IIHR, Bengaluru. This has thre very important microbs that control diseases, promots growth and mobilizes nutrients in the soil

Generally people think that microbial cultures can be multiplied at their level using jagari or other microbial foods. But in fact it is partially true. Once or two times one can manage doing like this. But since microbial cultures in the open get easily contaminated you will end up in multiplying harmful microbs more than useful microbs. Hence it is not advisable to multiply microbial products and farm-level
I really liked the way vegetables like Patty Pan were grown in IIHR by the fermentation of Coco-peat using AMC and decomposer. Sir, 1 ) When we put coco-peat in HDPE grow bags or on the rooftops gardens, coco-peats sets and becomes compacted in few weeks. They are usually full when filled but after a week or so they are reduced to half. What to do then? should it be toped again? 2 ) How long can fermented cocopeat be used as a growing media.? When will the fertility of the fermented cocopeat be completely reduced. Should we refill the grow bags again with cocopeat or should it be completely replaced.
This is the general question raised by many who use cocopeat. When you fill the bag you are not packing it properly. So the air space gets reduced with time and cocopeat gets compacted. There is no problem with this. You can top itup. Once cocopeat is filled in a bag it can be used for 8 to 10 crop cycles of any crop that losts about a 100 days or even for longer period. But after harvest of each crop the bag has to be repotted by mixing the cocopeat and the fine roots well and making up to the loss by adding little extra. . Cocopeat as such has no inbuilt fertility in it. You need to supply nutrients externally with nutrient sources such as Arka Sasya Ras.
We have noticed that the cocopeat produced with this method maintains EC at recommended levels. So for we or any others following this method have not faced any EC issues
Keep posting the informative videos like this , because our young generation is not verymuch skilled at scientific farming, Thank u very much for the quality guidance.
