Welcome to Alexraptor Aquatic, a channel dedicated to aquaria and marine flora and fauna.
Here you will find a variety of videos ranging from funny and strange clips of aquatic life, demonstration of husbandry techniques, frequent updates about my own systems I maintain, to previews and reviews of aquarium related products.
The 6020 isn't actually a wavemaker. This is the standard AC model, and It's a continuous flow stream pump. That said, the DC version, the 6040 does have a wave mode. Now I fortunately happen to have both, but I'm not sure I would exactly call the 6040 quiet, at least not on higher power settings, that produce a distinct hum.
@@AlexraptorAquatic Thanks for your response. I'm looking to buy the 6020 to replace a continuous flow pump (sometimes called a Wavemaker, though it doesn't produce waves!) that not only has the distinct hum, but also an awful vibrating noise. Most reviews I've read seem pretty good regarding noise but I thought I'd ask someone who's been using one for a number of years. I note that towards the end of your video you do say that the 6020 operates very quietly.
I've had this for years and like many filters, need the filtration sponges replacing. Luckily too with this the little carbon cylinders can be replaced, which I only found out. I love it. Has worked for me with my Dapples Fish Face goldfish. I give it 100%
THIS!! Exactly what I needed. Someone gave me one of these and I had no idea what to use it for. Thank you for the straightforward explanation. And the what comes in the box info too. Excellent.
Thanks for this review. I'm interesting by both of them - freshwater for my refugium and reef version for a pico reef. I have one question : i know light measure 14cm but I want to know the lenght with bracket mount . Thanks in advance
