I was talking to Jake about this at Skip's Lounge a few weeks back. Glad to see you got it back. I live in Buxton with a Kraton 6S and Typhon 6S I can't wait to take out this summer. I need to find some good bash spots that are legally accessible.
Yeah, he was telling me he was talking to someone but couldn't remember the name a lot of times we go to rotary park in Biddeford at the skatepark and bash. But you're more than welcome to come here too bash to
I also have a 6s kraton but need a lot of work to it before I can use it again Right now I'm doing a build of the XRT can't Wait till that's done Are you Apart of my Facebook page as well
Be careful brother driving that thing through the snow. I have a TRX four I wish my bronco had the VXL motor but it doesn't. I wish they made a VXL crawler motor
Thanks the X-maxx is down right now need to get tires and Batteries This winter I'll be doing A XRT build wish I had a better setup so I can record me doing the builds.
My XMaxx is sitting on a work bench right now and has been since January. It is in 2 parts and the motor and electronics pulled out, I hope to get it together soon. A better setup is a tripod facing you and tilt it up and down when you’re working
That stinks man I hate when my R c's are just sitting around now I have nothing to do a video with that's why I want to start recording myself building and repair them my boss is letting me borrow his Batteries so I might make a video tomorrow
Resistance causes heat. You will need to find a way to remake that wire connection that has a good enough connection where it won't build up heat. Yeah, you could "take it easy" on the throttle, but where's the fun in that? Looks like that connection is soldered, but probably needs a better soldering job. It might actually be cheaper to take the rig into whatever local hobby shop you have near you and pay them to solder the connection, than to buy a new ESC. I've had work done at Ray and Robin's Hobby Shop in Falmouth and they are extremely reasonable there.
Maybe strip back more of the insulation from both wires you're soldering so you have a larger contact patch between the two ends when you re-solder it.
I've seen people do things like almost a spiral staircase. Also a platform with blocks of wood of various sizes to really flex out the articulation. You could also have almost like a ramp that gradually increases the incline to almost 90 degrees to see who could climb the highest. A really great channel for those types of things is Exocaged RC.
I have yet to experience an actual breakage on my Vorteks. These are such light vehicles the plastics hold up well to bad landings etc.. I think the trade off is the cars are so light and fast for 3s because everything is plastic/composite. I find you really gotta stay on top of drive train wear with these. But everyone who sees it for the first time says the same thing; "That thing is fast!".
you didn’t have to do the servo/pan hard mount that’s meant for lift? Incase it extends fully? I put my 120mm from my high trail on my sons blazer and the pan hard/servo link was way to steep. So I’m doing the servo/pan hard drop.also, when you had it jacked up like in the video, you didn’t experience the drive shaft binding?
It is tough running on the snow especially on the warm days when it gets soft But yesterday was pretty cold so I took advantage of that and ran my truck the snow was pretty hard
Great video guys! Keep ‘em coming . Try shoveling out a course and putting (Saw dust or dirt over the packed down part of the Shoveled out course and Race On!
I love the Anaconda tires. I have a set for my 2wd Rustler but rarely use them because traffic is crazy around my place. You could loosen the slipper clutch slightly to help ease into your launches, though that will obviously wear it out faster.
Watched a couple of your videos. Like the style of play. I just be outside having a ball too. 😆. Love the hobby. Been doing for 13 years now. Subbed. 👍
That Traxxas Rally is pretty sweet. I've wanted one for a while, but kind of bummed it comes brushed. Assuming it comes ready to be upgraded to brushed? I'd hate to buy one, get it upgraded to brushless just to immediately trash the drivetrain lol.
