Yeah, I'm going with hit a curb at speed. Audi's lower control arms are forged aluminum... which is actually pretty tough. The ball joints are kinda undersized, and tend to fail. When they fail, they make groaning, noises, clunking and allow slop, but they don't shear off like that. I have to call bullshit on this one.

Wow that turbo does need rebuilding. Look at how much movement on that shaft! I'm surprise this wasn't detected much earlier. That could have been worse and could have damage the blade and the housing. Nice little lesson by the way.
