I've been playing Naoto on Xbox for a day or two, but man, he's gotta be one of the most honest characters I've ever had the pleasure of playing. My only regret is that there isn't crossplay for such an amazing game like this, it takes forever to get a match on Xbox, so I'm thinking I should move over to PC. Nevertheless, this has essentially become my bible on "How the fuck do I do Naoto combos?" And whenever I get down from grinding combo routes, or sad that hitstun decay won't let me sauce the way I want, I always remember: "Naoto is only as hard as you're willing to sauce. And you to sauce, don't you?" "Yes?" "Well, get saucing then."
Glad to hear that we have more aspiring Naoto players in the making thanks to the Xbox version! Sadly yeah, i don't think the game is going to be that popular on the Xbox... Most of the player base is playing on the PS5/PS4 with the PC being the next biggest. Crossplay would be ideal so we wouldn't haver this problem, but it is what it is. At any rate, you are absolutely right, Naoto is a pleasure to play and doing his combos always feel nice, especially when you get to the saucy stuff. Keep on grinding and hopefully my other guides can help you out regarding Naoto!
Well yeah, they aren't that complicated you are right about that. Of course if you aren't used to doing dash cancels they can be a little hard/awkward to do, but don't stress if you can't get them consistently. Take your time and sooner or later they will just click with ya. (And of course in case you haven't, i'd suggest checking out my dash cancel guide, it may help you out at least somewhat)
No worries, i will be uploading more content soon enough. Right now i'm just very busy due to work, but i will be getting back to uploading more stuff (CF, TAG and hopefully something else as well)
you probably dont play this game anymore or see these comments, but is there any advice to hitting 1-2 frame link from 236b to 2c. I feel like I have to be doing something wrong
There isn't really any special trick to do the 236[B]>2C loops. You just have to delay the 236[B] just the right amount to get the link afterwards. Also, you are doing the fully charged 236B right? (Also, i do play this game occasionally still, just not as much as CF. I still got some content planned for this game as well, i just got to find some time to make it)
@@mkester617 no don't worry, you are supposed to fully charge the 236B (hence the 236[B] notation), i was just checking. if that's the case you are just messing up on your 236[B] delay timing. It IS 1~2 frame after all so it's not gonna be easy to land, and even then it's not all that practical to use. Honestly speaking, just sticking to the intermediate combos is more than fine if you want good optimal Jubei combos. Not gonna stop you from labbing out the 2C>dl.236[B] loops tho (or as i call them "The Wakanda Loops"), but don't feel discouraged if you can't land them. I can't land them like 60% of the time myself
It's all about buffering your moves and dash cancels, welcome to Naoto's world, lol. If you have trouble doing the combo in the video (5AAA>5Bdc>2366B), i would suggest you replace the 2366B with 2366A or 2366C instead. 5AAA>5Bdc>2366B is "technically" 1 frame link (but actually due to buffer it's 3 frame buffer link yadda yadda etc.), but if you do 5AAA>5Bdc>2366A/C instead you get couple more frames of leeway (6 frames more iirc.). You can use the 2366A/C variation to get the hang of the buffer timing for the 5Bdc before trying out 2366B variation.
@@theeultimatewarrior81 Yeah, the input sequence can be a bit awkward. But let's see if this can help you out: 1nd: Figure out how early you can do your dc. If you try to do your dc too fast, it won't come out (This is called "Dash Cancel Lockout") and if you do your dc too late, it will miss. Start by doing 5AAA>5Bdc>66. Keep doing that and slowly start to experiment how early you can buffer the 66 from the 5Bdc. 3rd: This is the 2nd hardest part. Clean inputs. 2366 is a little unorthodox input and it's all about buffering. It has to be done as 1 smooth motion, so right after pressing the 5B button, you should immediately start doing your 2366 motion. This is again the best i can do, to help you out regarding the 2366 dc motion. Lastly 4th: This is the hardest part of Naoto. Keep on practising. Nobody learned to play Naoto in a day or in the first 5 sessions. You just have to hit the training room, until one day you suddenly get it. I had the same problem as you, although that was all the way back in CF. Naoto is easily top 3 most hardest character to play in TAG, but i assure you, once you get him down, it feels euphoric pulling of his dc combos.
@@Soulinfe i think first point will help alot but clean inputs i definitely got to adjust to cause i spam the inputs to make sure they come out, ill keep practicing, been at it for like 5 days
If you are struggling with dash cancels, i'd suggest that you take a look at this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cmUMmec9DCY.html&ab_channel=Soulinfe It can take some people a while before they get Naoto.K's dash cancels down, but just take your time and soon enough you will do them with no problem at all.
Hopefully that will change with the rollback coming soon. That being said.... If you want to get matches more regularly you should join the BBTAG discord, there you can ask for games be it on PC, PS or Switch.
Thank you for watching! TAG can be hard to understand with how gimmicky it is, half of the time i don't understand what's happening on the screen myself, lmao (especially against good players with good teams).
@@Soulinfe yeah, I main adachi/ hazama. And I just dont really have a grasp of the game and the basics so yeah. but your content is really cool and fun to watch!
BBtag is getting rollback real soon! you think youll make a return to making online match videos then? also thank you for introducing me to so many good songs this video holy shit
Oh, i am still playing TAG and i'm not gonna stop playing it anytime soon, especially with the rollback coming in the future. However, i am thinking off adding more variety with some BBCF content and MAYBE Strive as well (we shall see). Also glad to hear that you like the music!
bro, your game inputs are showing that you did the dash cancel like johnny treasure hunter super, you did A A A B 2366 with B pressed again in the 3, is that it or am I wrong?
@@docphil9602 A bit, yeah. Strive at least changed that so you can use your dash button for both dash and air dash. Also, glad that you like the vid! It has some mistakes here and there and it's missing some stuff, but it should cover like 95% of Naoto's important combo stuff.
Neither, i play Naoto.K with Jubei because i like Naoto.K, also because i play both Naoto.K and Jubei in BlazBlue Centralfiction as well. I guess you could say that i'm a "character loyalist". Jubei/Naoto.K doesn't have any real synergy imo, and both characters would prefer someone else as their partner.
Thank you very much! I may start doing more guides for other games as when i have more time. I created these guides only because the guides during then were a bit outdated for the characters that i were playing with. Don't know about me blowing up though, but i really do appreciate the sentiment! Makes me really happy to hear you say that!
I'm glad to hear that. If this video helps out even one person, that's more than enough for me. If you happen to have any questions, feel free to ask. I will try my best to help you out.
This was enjoyable to watch! I'm new to BBTag I'm trying to find some teams for Naoto K and a team for Hakumen. I might try out Jubei and Naoto you played them good 👍 nice content man
Thank you for watching! Jubei/Naoto.K isn't that great of a team (if that's something that's important to you), but if you want to try out that team then go ahead.
i've been playing around with that idea in my head, but i can't promise anything. I do have some ideas for CF videos that i could do, but i'm mostly waiting on GG Strive right now.
Thank you for watching! I won't lie, i'm not 100% satisfied with my gameplay during these sets, but in the end this was all for fun and we both enjoyed ourselves.
