My father is 71 and he only gets around 1400 which is max. How does he pay rent in today's economy? He has 2 hip replacements he can't work. I can't support him.
This was very informative. I really appreciate seeing the calculation break down for self-employment running a business, and the things to keep in mind that ODSP is encouraging you save money while you are working so you can bridge the gap of working to not working while on ODSP. So many people I've met who say they are on ODSP are certain they can not do any of this. which I know they believe something that is false.
This presentation needs to update the net income threshold for working it is now $1,000 you can earn net income and remain eligible for ODSP. Above $1,000 ODSP will review your income eligibility
I work with a job coach right now actually, and similar advice was given. I am from the USA in IL, though. I do feel the job offer is the best time to disclose IMO.
Odsp is legislated poverty to get or (be married ) you are financially abused by the system, (you can't have money) the most psychologically vulnerable, the spouse is often a physical labor it is most often eventual disability and guaranteed early death or poverty 2 or more jobs is impossible to work for over 5o or olds and extra cash is clawed back (discoraged) how can you get ahead !!!!

I am 34, and I can see all the things I struggled with better understanding. ASD with AS is a interesting combination if I do say so myself, very confusing as it feels like the social rules change just as you learn how the Version 1 worked and now its Version 17. Its a lonely road with lots of challenges. There are great information available regarding skills for coping. Thanks for the video.

Structure is very important! 💡 And as you stated changing routines, slowly and trying to reason that it's ok to change the routine and even fun is really important to tolerate unexpected changes.
