I just don’t do voicechat when I solo Q. Haven’t for years. Comms with friends. I don’t play any less because of the hate but I wish it wasn’t so bleak out there. I’d love to see more women playing multiplayers, esp FPS.
"These traumatic events" aka the average game chat after a bad game. Its the norm to be "toxic" because 1. Its fun 2. You care about the game. A lot of Women just dont care about getting into the scene and want free wins instead.
Meanwhile me who recently started playing Valorant and was getting carried to bronze: "nah that is not my rank i am pretty sure i will just derank if i queue solo and if i do that clearly means i don't deserve the rank i got to" then a week or so later when i finally grind to bronze on my own skill "finally, i get there on my own terms". Especially when i was literally MVP on my rank up to bronze match (even i was suprised that i was literally top frag and carrying my team (and i queued with 2 other people) Sorry for the yap session, just wanted to show that as a girl i care about fair play than getting carried to a rank I don't deserve for clout
If anyone is interested in the Persona 1 story, even if you've already played it, I *strongly* recommend the Persona 1 manga. It's the exact same story as the game, but with more depth, details, character development, and emotions. A good example of this is Nanjo's butler dying. In the game, it's a kinda whatever moment with just a few lines. In the manga, you can visibly see how devastated Nanjo is over the lost of his friend and mentor. It vastly improves the scene. Another example is the MC, Naoya. In the game, he's not really anybody. Just a blank slate for the player to fill. In the manga, he has a name (Naoya), a personality and a really interesting backstory. The manga also does fun stuff with Personas, like making use of powerful spells like Matrakarn to beat bosses, and explaining niche Persona mechanics, like how Persona healing magic doesn't work on non Persona-users. It's well worth the read for anyone interested in Persona 1.

pretty nice video. i do sometimes have trouble understanding you, your enunciation is a little skippy but subtitles would help, im not gonna say you need to change how you speak. i have some auditory processing difficulties anyway. all that aside, I've been into persona lately. playing p4g on my computer. persona is very interesting to me, and it's nice to see persona content in my recommendations. i really know nothing about the older persona games, so it's neat to learn about them. my only other note is just that your pronunciation of the character names isn't always correct, but that's mostly a pet peeve for me. looking forward to see how you improve in the future, you've got a solid start here, i think.

Another thing the game doesn't tell you is that to get the totems for the party's ultimate personas, you have to complete the hardest tower first. You get the totems from Hee-Ho-Kun (the Jack Frost in uniform)
“Dirty pool” in the example in the video is Nanjo not trusting your decision to take the compact half and put it right where Aki wants it to go. He’s attempting to call you out by saying it’s not fair to knowingly walk into a trap. Granted there’s nothing else you can do as a player, but narratively he doesn’t like just playing into the enemies hands like that.
Being the player's fault is foreshadowed from one of the arcana archetypes he is best at. That being the Moon arcana, which is shown throughout the series of other representers, creating problems and situations caused by their direct actions.
Regarding Josh from Until Dawn: the papers and receipts lying around the cabin tell us that Josh actually has schizophrenia, the reason why Dr Hill says he has MDD (Major Depression Disorder) and gives him antidepressants is because Dr Hill isn’t trained to diagnose schizophrenia, leading Josh to try all sorts of drugs before he quits taking them all together, leading to what we see in game
Regarding Symmetra I feel like her being autistic not being talked about in game as much is a symptom of multiplayer games just not being that lore heavy or not having good mediums to tell a story through, sure there’s some multiplayer games that can tell a storyline well (like early Fortnite) but most of them like Apex and DBD, the only time we really get lore is through the cinematic’s we get, the rare event that’s story related or like how we learn about Symmetra being autistic, some comic the devs make
Just thought I’d answer some of the questions you posed as well since my comment was posted before I got to them: I think the answer to Question one is pretty simple and is also sort of answered in my comment, most of the time this stuff just comes up one time then fades away into the background because let’s be honest here, you don’t play Overwatch for its lore Question 2: I’m flip flopping on this one because there’s times where devs have said the community is reading into something too much and there’s times where devs have confirmed fan theory’s Question 3: this is a good point as well, but these descriptions rarely if at all get updated even for characters who aren’t autistic (Apex Legends hasn’t even updated the descriptions for characters who were there from the start) Question 4: As someone with autism I’d argue it’s good representation, autism is a spectrum so people show their autism in different ways Question 5: I’d rather people not know so I don’t get treated differently
I think that's a fair observation. I still find it odd that a game that takes pride in its diversity didn't take this steps to make it visible in the game. Valorant did a good job showing that Raze and Killjoy being in a relationship through voice lines in the game if they're on the same team. Even adding them in a player card for Valentine's Day. Why Couldn't Overwatch do the same? Instead of burying this piece of information in an old digital comic book?

This route truly is the epitome of Pandora's Box. While it really doesn't answer... anything to do with the main route at all and mostly just serves as an extension of the game's themes, the more human touch of the antagonists is much more compelling than the more high concept, nebulous message of the SEBEC route. The ties to Naoya's initial persona are nice. Especially since you pointed out you can divert to the SEBEC route at any point before unsealing the mask... Besides the general game design and "haha gotcha" puzzles. Honestly, what made me love the Snow Queen route the most is the atmosphere and antagonists. Even if the plot is kinda incomplete without doing the SEBEC route, the necessity to look up a guide and grind just to beat it, and the pacing and vague directions at the start are bad. Your skills in analyzing the writing decisions and synergy with the gameplay at the start are fantastic. Keep up the great work!
Pretty neat video. While Revelations: Persona is a very flawed game, it's still fun to see what people think of it and how the series got started. Definitely not as iconic or as unique as Persona 3 and onward, but the first three games have their charm (mainly the narrative). Especially the Persona 2 duo. Unless we're counting the background in battle. Those... are interesting. Glad that this appeared in my recommendations. Also, I left closed captions on and I cannot help but laugh at some auto-generated gems: 38:54 Spoken word: "We are greeted by ... and horrors beyond human comprehension." Captions: "We are greeted by ... and [censored] beyond human comprehension." Need I explain? 50:45 Spoken word: "The ideal Maki is deeper in the forest." Captions: "The ideal monkey is deeper in the forest." Given the commentary when the word monkey is used, I had to pause and just laugh for a couple minutes there. Same type of error shows up again at 53:45.

I've been told really good things about the SMT series. Once I have a better understanding on what I want a video to look like, I plan on expanding the games I cover. No video about men being abused online but always victimizing women for views and money.Apparently men are the enemies. I get called our for belonging to a lower caste but i never saw any video on why its not good to insult people belonging to such group.
As a woman who's spent thousands of hours (and dollars) on DOTA2, who's not bad at it no less, my experience is that if I don't get as toxic as those not so unfrequent shitheads I might not play this game at all. Pub games man. Makes you feel like being a woman itself diminishes all your knowledge and experience you've worked so hard on over the years.
I hope one day this changes, that we don't need to have multiple long form videos going into great detail to see what women have to go through is not merely banter. While I did research for this video, I remember seeing an archive from 2007 of women posting their experiences on a forum board showing me that this isn't a new idea, rather an ongoing issue that has been going on since I've been online (if I can find the forum, I'll post it here). Our attitude towards women in the scene is slowly changing (refer to Game Changers in Valorant, as well as women's college basketball receiving increased viewership). It's a slow process, but it's getting there. If you do give Valorant a try, I recommend joining the Galorants Discord server. I can't speak from experience if the server is good or not, but when I talked to the moderators, they seemed really nice and caring about their community. Hope DOTA 2 treats you well, used to play a lot of Anti-Mage when I played in High School!
