If we consider movies like Kadamai Kanniyam Kattuppaadu, A duet song without lyric in the film Selvi and BGMs in almost all movies (few examples: Moondram Pirai, Moodupani, Tick...Tick...Tick.. (Previously mentioned 3 movies BGMs were released in the LP record of Ninaivellaam Nithya), My Dear Kuttichaathaan (for only 2 songs, LP record was release for this movie with BGM), Dharma Yudham, Enakkul Oruvan, 100avadhu Naal, Japanil Kalyanaraman, Kazhugu ec, etc, etc., proves that Ilaiya Raaja's success are not depending on lyrics.
During later 90s, Ilaiya Raajaa's songs with his excellent compositions were not reached to his fans due to many reasons one important reason is that his songs were released in the cassettes with poor audio quality. For example:songs of the films Chembaruthi, Cinna Pasanga Naanga, Unnai ninachen Paatt Padichen, Innisai Mazhai etc. songs that we listen in a good quality can be compared with the original cassetes released in that time and can be found the differene. After his music were stopped coming in ECHO and RAJA cassetes they were all released in poor audio qualitty with lot of distortion for sometimes. Later the good quality was restored
