Great side by side comparison video. Weird that I like the color science on the action 4 so much better than the action 5 pro. The color science on A5P seems to blow out the detail which is probably why people complained about bitrate in the first place.
Hello Ken, thank you very much for your review. I just wanted to ask you about your DJI Pocket 3 (yes, I noticed it in the reflection on the prompter screen during your presentation... lol). Have you ever tried mounting it on the prompter, and if so, how was the experience? Greetings from Italy
@uzziana that is a great question and as well to be honest is one thing I need to do soon as another person has asked the same question. I agree that this would be a great idea to test out. I will do that soon and put out a video on it. And thank you for the nice words. Greetings to you
Got these for my Action 5. Same issue you demonstrated. I'm leery to use them now and since I don't have an action 4 it looks like I've wasted my money trying to save money!
@weekendwanderer5514 right, i did the exact thing where they were saying the 4 fitd in the 5 so i assumed it would work just fine. I had to edit alot because I discovered the issue as I was filming l. What a bummer
@Anjaan-Freddyy why, yes, I do think it will be just fine. The thing works with a cell phone camera. So, as long as you can keep the light out from the back, just about any small camera will work. Even most point and shoots and those are pretty small.
@@KenPeriman Thanks so much, Ken! Really appreciate you taking the time to answer, you’ve been super helpful. And thanks for the kind words on my video, means a lot! I’ll definitely work on that. Thanks mate
Thank you Ken, Sir, I’m planning to upgrade my old SSDs and recently discovered that my two old SSDs are integrated logically as a RAID 0 array. I've purchased two new SSDs, but now I'm stuck on how to proceed. DO I HAVE to set up my new SSDs to support RAID 0 from the BIOS ? or duplication process will cover the configuration ?
It looks like the Action 5 is in HDR mode all the time and a bit oversharpened. OP3 did not do very well against the bright window. I hope they both get some new firmware updates soon. Thanks for you video.
It does get a bit warm for me but now I mainly record in 4K30. I find it more than enought for what I am doing. Continue to enjoy the Pocket 3 as its a really good quality camera.
Yeah agreed that both cameras have their place and if you are in any way wanting to do anything agressive while recording then you should get the Action 5 Pro
I prefer the Action 5 Pro! FYI, I own both, but the Action 5 is a little more versatile & durable. The Pocket 3 is better in lowlight and its’ gimbal provides stabilization without cropping!🙏🏾
And just an FYI, I had the pleaseure of hanginig out in your country for a few days for the first time ever. Did a cruise to the european capitals and then spent 3 days in London. Loved it! was super fun and really nice.
Both cameras performed quite well in my opinion. Straight off the bat it looks like the Action 5 exposed a bit better for your face with the indoor test. I think using the memo app to tap and lock the exposure in a back lit scenario with the Pocket 3, might give better results, but then again these are additional steps to take that makes it less user friendly. Personally, I prefer the look of the OP3 more during the outdoor test. That slight background blur is just enough to isolate you, giving the overall image a much better look. Thanks for sharing, Ken. Can't go wrong with any of these two cameras as they both excel in what they are made for.
@Squidpaws- you are right on to what i was thinking, while not trying to do anything more than what a new to action camera person would do, I was a bit taken aback on the OP3 indoor outcome (I would make sure I dont record against a large window) i do like the background blur on it outside as you pointed out. Thank you for your comment.
Awesome vid! I've been a Gopro fanboy since the beginning but it seems that they aren't keeping up with the game and DJI might be easing ahead! Looking forward to the low light comparison.🙌🏽
Hey! Thank you so much for the video, I actually purchased the streamer x as I’m going to be streaming from a dual PC set up and am having issues with setting it up, is it possible to do a set up video? Like cables and software?
@@KenPeriman Thx for the review! Could you do a test with the Osmo Pocket 3 to check if it does work with it / if it is compatible ? The issue might be the heigh of the OP3... I'm sure many people would be interested in that since there is no clear answer out there (and a lot of guys asking on reddit, youtube and so on) 🙂
