One of the most important martial arts films to ever come out in the last 20 or so years. I hope I can do a video essay on this that will do the film justice. At a time when right wing nationalism is on the rise all over the world, but specifically Japan, this is a must-see.
Never saw this. They made a LOT of movies based on Chu Yu's work, including Killer Meteors, and ....The Brave Archer flicks? (Not sure about rhose, tbh).
Both Shaz and I think he has been criminally underrated. He had all the tools in his belt, and knew how to use them! Great to shine a spotlight on him. Great job Brother 💖

This one was hard for me to digest. Usually Indonesian/Malay films, martial arts or otherwise, are very good. But not even Chen Kuan Tai (who I guess made this as some sort of vanity project?) couldn't make this film any better...or Billy Chong. Don't get me wrong. I love both those guys. It's just this one was way too...off in a way. It's cool as some sort of obscure curiosity or something, but other than that....kinda like Soul of Chiba....this falls flat
