gonstFM is The Radio Station dedicated to the band Ghost and the wider Gonst community, broadcasted live, monthly, on the Stationhead app. The podcast companion, gonstFM: Off Air, features episodes about Ghost's most Sacred Psalms and interviews with content creators, illustrators, musicians and more who've been inspired by the band.
Just have to say that the Nameless Ghouls, animated as the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, were just so cute. And Mountain's little drumstick twirl was adorable.
Hey, nice to see the talented artists and illustrators behind Ghost designs getting interviewed. I believe I just read somewhere that August is American Artist Appreciation Month, so great timing with August just around the corner. I chuckled at the mention of the perpetual debate over whether or not Ghost is "metal" enough in this day and age of some really hardcore metal bands having singers that just scream or growl lyrics (and though I know Tobias, himself, played death metal in Repugnant in the past, I cannot stand death metal, because I like thrashy, yet still melodic stuff, like Master of Puppets by Metallica). Maybe, just maybe, Ghost is so unique that this is a separate genre just known as Ghost, ya think? 🤘 After watching Con Clavi Con Dio performed on the big screen five times when the concert movie Rite Here Rite Now was in theaters, it certainly sounded "metal" to me! Great interview with Cutter. Do consider more artists for August's podcast. I marvel at some of the artwork fans are uploading that's being showcased at the official website for Rite Here Rite Now. There is a ton of talent out there paying tribute to Ghost, however one chooses to classify them.
Yes! Artist appreciation month is why I have had illustrators on for the last two weeks! I am actually taking a short break In August which is why the artist episodes are dropping this month! I just had Jonny Bush on last week, and I will be having two podcasts dropping this week with two more artists/illustration teams. So check them out as well! Thanks for listening and thank you for dropping some feedback 👻🤘🏻
Finally took the leap and began to get into Gonst FM, joined the FB group, and I am just having such a great time getting to deep dive in the BTS stuff and everything in between for Ghost. I've never liked a band or became so 'obsessed' with a band until they came along. So thanks for what you do, Richie!
@gonstFM I am honored to be along for the ride, thank you for your dedication to one of the best groups out there 🙏🏻 My kid also wants to say she admires your loves for Opus!

Nice interview! 🤘 So proud that RHRN broke a North American box office record for concert movies. 💖 The next record for Ghesties to break will be how many times we've seen it. Due to the extended screenings in the suburban Chicago area, I'm going for the 4th time on Thursday. Thank you to the Clergy for coordinating added screenings with select theaters in certain regions!! Also, thank you Tobias Forge for being an absolute control freak and thus knowing exactly what he wanted. Well done Alex and Tobias! 👏
I'm really missing the old days, more satanic tunes, better set to the theme. I can't help myself, but the whole advertisement and circus around Emeritus lV. is more joking and a Disney-figure, I suppose. Also to know after the movie (spoiler's coming!) that his mother and father made the Ghouls kill Emeritus l to lll, just to get their son becoming the best entertainer, made me cry! 😢
i loved this movie so much. i got to see it on my birthday, and the drive home from the theater where i was processing it all was so amazing. you really put into words so many of my thoughts about it!
Thanks for this episode! I saw Rite Here Rite Now three times and am still like some junkie going nuts for another fix. I'm theorizing and wishful thinking that a streaming and DVD version may be available on July 26th, when the full RHRN soundtrack is available (the one everyone's pre-ordered already). Maybe, there will be a Bonus scene to the movie, where we actually get to see "the new guy," too? Because at some point, there has to be a reveal. Either it will end up in an upcoming Chapter, or as a Bonus scene when we can buy it on DVD (or streaming option). But no way are the fans going to be left waiting until a new Ghost album is released. So, hoping I'm speculating correctly about July 26th. 🤞 Aside from full agreement that RHRN was just an epic production, that Tobias Forge is a genius and that Alex Ross Perry did an amazing job working with Forge, some other things to note: Cardi always seems to go from badass frontman while on stage to behaving like a total childlike dufus when in the presence of his Mommy. That's why people cracked up at his goofy-sounding sob when he covers up Sister Imperator's face with the sheet, because he just plain acts goofy when near her. Remember the tricycle with the red bow that she gifted him once? Where he was ringing the bell? She even treated him like "my little Cardi" even after he ascended to the Papa IV title. Also, I was confused at first about whether Cardi's inevitable death was being portrayed as he's carried up to the Heavens in the balloon or if it was symbolic of his big ego, which then gets brought back to Earth. I thought he got resurrected, or "saved" by "Jesus" (aka Kevin) just as his mother dies. As if instead of yet another Papa being offed in a gentler way this time than being dragged off the stage, Sister prefers he stick around to become the new head of the Clergy. Then again, Tobias often writes lyrics that can have a double meaning, depending on who's doing the analyzing (kind of like wave-particle duality, hah hah, where it's a wave or a particle depending on the observer). Finally, loved the Rocky scene after singing If You Have Ghost, originally a Roky Erickson song. There's probably a hundred more things I could say, but I'll wrap it up by stating that if fans don't get their hands on a DVD or streaming option by July 26th, we're all going to go insane. RHRN was the best. 🤘
I am so glad you liked it! I also do a radio broadcast once a month on the Stationhead app. You should come check that out sometime. I usually give updates on my socials for those 🤘🏻 Thank you for taking time to listen 🙏🏻
Stumbled onto this band when I saw they had a concert film. Read up on the lore and saw it Thursday and today and am into like 11 of their songs right now. Wasn't a fan of the skits, the execution was bad but the live performances were awesome. The second viewing ruined the recorded versions for me though. They sound immensely better live. Hope to see them next time they tour!!
You should watch their Chapters videos on their RU-vid channel! The band is purposefully campy in the execution of the skits and such. It’s not meant to be taken too seriously 😎
Can we talk about how great the song if you have ghost you have every thing. I loved the strings and Piano could not help to shed a few tears for the way he did that cover it was amazing. It was a great show. I bought 4 ticket to the movie but only used one to support the movie. It was nice to not see every one with there fucking cell phones in the air More concerts should be like that.
Are we getting the conversation going on speculation for the next era ? Is the ghost phase over ? Is the story over ? Are we finally getting the incoming of Tobias ? What magic this was. Thanks everyone. 💟
I absolutely love this movie so much! It's the Best Concert film I've seen it as a ghost fan it so good I love that they actually did not allow the audiences to use their phones to record because I feel like that could give away the experience you're Rite Here Rite Now! The songs were so good people in my theater especially in costume some were nuns others were Nameless Ghouls and Papas I was in makeup of course as Papa 4 being there with the ghost fans was an amazing experience and I loved it so much we were all singing and clapping it felt like we were actually there in that concert which made it even more fun and exciting I love this movie so much and I'm hoping it'll get a physical release on Blu-ray and DVD because this movie definitely deserves to be on the big screen and for people at home who want to watch it you're gonna want to start dancing!
Spoiler: Hi Richie!! Tobias is a little stinker. That last scene just after the credits. Really!!!!! Ha!!!! I said “ Are you Serious” out loud after it happened. Everyone started laughing. Even Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 99% which never happens. Now they are in the 99% Club. It was an amazing movie. I figured Sister Imperitor would die because of the reference to the Exorcist. I knew Nihil and her were Copias parents. Now he is the head of the clergy so it is leaving it wide open for Papa V. Hope everyone else enjoyed it as well
Are we beginning the discussion yet on the speculation for our next era ? Is ghost (as we’ve known it) over ? Has the story weve all known come to a close ? Is T.F. inbound ? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you! Just checked Fandango and noted a few theaters in the suburbs are having showings through Thursday, too! Hot damn. I'm gonna see it for the 4th time, probably. Bless you, my child, for your comment. ❤️😊
