Here they are, celebrating the last supper, and comment after comment is nothing but criticism about the particulars and style chosen. You are missing the point.
it's not a copy, it's just that Anglicans and Roman Catholics share a common liturgical heritage. and besides, i think the fact that our liturgies are so similar is a good thing, as it facilitates our eventual reunion
Versus populum is problematic. The priest looks like he's performing for a crowd and the assistant looks like she's watching the performance and not praying together with the priest. Try ad orientem.
Written down, I’ve realised that there’s no indication of a pause or a comma between ‘because we all share’ and ‘in one bread’ but I’ve always noticed it.
Limp language. Soft oblation, "we bring before you the bread of life and the cup of salvation" from early Greek anaphoras, rather than the more explicit, "we offer you these gifts," or the rather vivid statement from one of the Vatican II Consecration Prayers, "we offer you his body and blood," not used in anaphoras 2000 years. The Roman Canon always talks of "gifts" as do the Orthodox. Even it meant metaphorically it's pushing the envelope since the presence of Christ is not PHYSICAL but corporeal.
be for us rather than become, implying no change in the elements of bread and wine. anglicans generally believe the bread and wine are what they are, just these, but Christ is truly, really and essentially present...best said by St. John of Damascus, "the bread and the wine are visible symbols of a spiritual presence." Spiritual does not mean not present but you can't see it with the naked eye. Jesus offers himself to us, in, with, under, through the elements however you want to try to describe a mystery, if you find need to.
Proper levitation? Did the celebrant rise off the floor 2 ft? You mean ELEVATION. By the way the ceremonial is nice and I like it but is not necessary for a valid eucharist. In the 6th century the Pope stood behind an altar that looked like a table (probably marble), set with a fair linen and facing the congregation, and with a minimum of gestures recited the Canon. The text is what counts! Brit prisoners of the Japanese celebrated clandestine eucharists - no altar, no vestments, smuggled wheat bread and some wine.
Since when is the liturgy in the Anglican Church celebrated like this? It looks like the Liturgy introduced in the Catholic Church through the II Vatican Concil
At 2.20 the papists helper makes the sign of an inverted cross then he holds up his wafer, digestive biscuit or prawn cracker which represents the babylonian sun disc worship. Painful to watch this Pagan pantomime and how far removed from true Christianity the modern church has fallen.
I dont know what religion you may be but your ignorance first of all calling the bread a cracker etc.Im RC and a traditionalist but still the Eucharist isnt paganism it is the dear sacrifice of Christ(in Catholicism where the lord is truelly present its the sacrifice )but Still even dough this is Protestant its not pagan anything. So your basically saying that when Jesus did the exact same thing he was doing it to a pagan god?!People like you are ones I especially pray for , for you are truelly decieved
@@christophergodfrey1003 I'm a Christian but I don't follow any denomination as they have all been Corrupted with pagan traditions that come from the church of Rome. I'm afraid that you do use a wafer/cracker in the eucharist and the priest holds it over head symbolizing sun God worship. It is placed in the monstrance which again resembles the sun and inside of that is a crescent moon shape that holds the wafer disc. This is symbolic of Isis. Jesus said whenever you break bread and drink wine, do it in memory of me. There is no reason why actual bread couldn't be used and why is it the Priest alone who drinks the wine in the Catholic church? That is not scriptural and why is he called Father when the bible specifically says call nobody on earth Father for one is your Father in heaven. The eucharist is an abomination, the bible says that Jesus died ONCE for us, when you say he is actually there in the eucharist then you sacrifice him over and over again making his original sacrifice meaningless. I'm sorry but it's you who has been deceived, read Revelation 17 and you will see that it sums up the Roman Catholic church to the letter. I will pray for you and all Catholics to "Come out of her my people , that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues.
@@seanrathmakedisciples1508 “And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18
@@vincenta_2 I repeat salvation is found in no one else for there is no other name given to mankind by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. You don’t have any objections coming to the Lord Jesus Christ. ? Do have any objections coming to Jesus. . Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved Acts 16:31. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life no one comes to the Father except through the Lord Jesus Christ. John 14:6. Call on the Lord Jesus Christ and have eternal life and forgiveness of sins right now.
Christ told us that He is the head of the Church, not the Queen. Paul told us to choose a leader from among the faithful, not engage a paid performer in fancy dress. The Bible tells us exactly what special days to observe and how to worship. There is no lent, no Easter, no Christmas, no mother's day or any of man's creations. The angel saw today's false churches and told the faithful exactly what to do, "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities."
