We created the TJ Docktails channel for family, friends, and anyone else who would like to come along on our adventure as we travel Americas Great Loop. Known also as "The Great Loop", which is a 6000 mile system of interconnected waterways in the eastern portion of the United States and part of Canada. It is made up of man-made and natural waterways including, the Great Lakes, inland rivers, canals, and the Intracoastal Waterways.
Bob, thanks for providing the feedback. we are working to improve the audio. We understand our channel may not be up to your expectations and you will not want to follow us or watch our videos.
If there is anything specific you wan to see, let me know. Our system has 2 BougeRV 200 watt panels mounted on the railing of our Flybridge and the panels are wired in series. I have a 15amp in-line fuse at the panels, go into a solar disconnect box and then the wires run to a Victron 100/30 MPPT controller (mounted near the house battery bank), through a 40 amp breaker and then to my house battery bank.
@@TJDocktails Thanks for. Clearing that up for me. I am really enjoying your posts. They are very refreshing, especially your comments about thin gs to see along the way.
Glad I found your site. Enjoy your Loop. When you get to Annapolis let me know if you need any transportation to reprovision. I do this for a lot of Loopers
are you guys back in Mesa? We are a retired couple in Mesa curious about the "loop". Can I ask where you found insurance and what it costs? did you jhave a lot of boating experience before ?
Hi Mike. We are back in Mesa and would be happy to meet up somewhere. We have about 10 years of sailing experience and ASA certification but no ownership (we chartered). We were able to get insurance through Jack Marin and Assoc. (contact Jon Horton) but there were limitations on age, value and size.
Congratulations. I’ve enjoyed the first two videos and look forward to watching your journey. As an experienced captain and retired Coast Guard officer, it’s great that you’ll be paying attention to the WX forecast. Always remember the weather and environmentals will only allow you to do what they want you to. Enjoy and safe journeys.
