This is brilliant. I wasn't born for 2 years, but my dad became the minister at the united Loudoun East and Old church in 1979. Loved my wee town.

I went several times in the mid to late 80s, but always remembered the first incline of the Log Ride being covered. This seems like very early 80s rather than 88.

I'm an Aussie, and in 1988, working in construction, I had a plumber mate who fell in love with a Chinese woman whilst on holiday there. He told me how hard her and her family had it financially and would regularly send $$ to help them out. He was trying to move to China full time, and on one of his trips there, he never came back to OZ. He was a nice, hard-working young guy and I often wonder what happened to him.

Wasn't it such a beautiful outdoor deck? A different Mebourne/Australia back then. Simple. I was a kid, but I remember the huge stainless binoculars you could use for like 10c. Ashtrays were everywhere lol,

I've only ever visited the MCS twice in my lifetime in the early to mid 1980's...I wish that I had gone there more to enjoy it more. But I always assumed that a place like this that was SO ahead of it's time would always be around?! How wrong I was, dead wrong even though I'd see the Xmas trees while passing through as well. So 40 years seen it's downfall from this, to a pitfall puddle to now "it all makes sense now" a up and coming railway underground station...I really wish that I had come here more, regrets.....

Man, I don't know if any country has ever undergone such rapid change as China. It went from a still largely agrarian backwater in the 70s / 80s to what is now or will soon be the world's largest economy and a technological leader.

I was there in 87 and all I went on was the swing ride and the ball pit, most everything else was shut down. And that year I began at Miami High fresh from Victoria. My memories are so sweet regarding that time of my life.

Took my son to Dreamworld today. It’s a poor shadow of what it used to be in the 80’s. I was pointing out the remains of the bushrangers house and was trying to explain the show where the outdoor toilet walls would collapse. Everyone on the Sturt would laugh their heads off. Felt depressed there today. Would happily give up the rest of my years of life just to be able to live through the 80’s again.

Something was burning in the background. 1:05 In those days kids had so much fun. These days all that fun is gone. In my City of Casey, all that open land we used to have for Circuses, and Amusements, are now being developed by... you know, greedy developers and Council alike. Which means more money for both Council who doesn't give a damn about leaving a parcel of land for these visitors (Circuses, etc.) and greedy developers who constantly ravage the land for the ongoing explosion of rabbit population. The future is certainly bleak. 🙄
