In 2022, Adams signed a multi year contract with undisclosed information. If we miss the playoffs again I bet we are stuck with him till his contract is over, instead of buying him out
Say goodbye to best case scenarios like Berkly Catton or Zayne Parekh and say hello to a nice, boring, mediocre addition like Scott Laughton to make our 3C spot look slightly better. I’m sure that’s gonna help us so much !
We have to wait to see how this all plays out but if the Sabres make picks at 14,42, and 43, I’ll be confused. This team needs quality not quantity. And why do it before they see who’s available at 11? More has to be coming.
@@andrewb3941 I guess all I’m saying is what if a good player drops out of the top 10 like Benson did last year. Why risk missing out for a second round pick? Which is why I think there is more to come with picks 14, 42, and 43.
Because the impatience and ineptitude of this fan base and ownership has put enough pressure on Adams that he feels the need to either trade 14 for someone who is straight up not good like Scott Laughton or trade for a decent WINGER like Necas that still leaves a glaring hole at 3C ready to be filled by someone as miserable as Krebs
@@brendanf8845 You can’t blame this fan base. We watched Drury and Briere walk(suffering), tanked for Eichel and Reinhart only to watch them lift the cup elsewhere, and watched a promising 22-23 season turn into an unwatchable embarassment last year all while sitting in our seats being surrounded by fans from the opposing team. Adams should be feeling the heat. He said it was go time prior to last season. And he has already stated he wants a top 6 winger, a 3rd line center, and some grit on lines 3 or 4. He keeps setting the bar himself. It’s time to follow through. And I agree with you about 3rd line center being most important. If Tage or Cozens miss time, I cringe at trying to come up with line combinations.
Adams says; “….You don’t win the Stanley Cup without being….basically everything we’re not and haven’t been for 13 years now….” Or something to that effect. And wow, nothing like lining up his excuses the day before the draft for not making any deals or free agent signings by blurting out; “….and maybe they don’t want to live in Buffalo….” Sabres Nation to Kevin Adams: It’s your freaking job to convince them that Buffalo is the best place to live for at least 1 to 7 years!
I guess San Jose really wants Eiserman as they just gave Buffalo a 2nd round pick to move up 3 spots in the first round. Good move Kevyn , question is now will the Adams use the 14th pick or trade it ( Necas? Sam Bennett?)
They just moved down from 11 to 14 and gained a 2nd rounder. I wonder if they’re going to package Skinner and a 2nd in a trade instead of a buyout. It doesn’t make sense to move down now w/o seeing who’s available at 11. 🤷🏼♂️
Perfect. Nothing like adding more draft picks instead of trading for grown men who can start helping this September. Great start Kevin “I must have the youngest team in the NHL” freaking Adams. But hey I’m keeping an open mind, I’m ready for the big trade that nets the Sabres even just one good quality veteran to help this season. After all Adams said he told every GM he’s open to anything. 😂😂 Sorry, I couldn’t keep a straight face after typing that last sentence.
@@WideTier He publicly said he wants a top 6 winger, a 3rd line C, and some hard to play against guys on lines 3 and 4. Can he follow through? Buying out a 30 goal scorer and adding draft picks is a confusing start for sure, but it’s still early.
@@grumpyscott17 That sounds great to me. But like I said, knowing Adams, I’ll settle for just ONE veteran NHL player via either trade or UFA signing that actually helps the Sabres make the playoffs under Ruff….just one, not on the current roster.
The gu'ys a wheeler-dealer! Can't wait to see what other draft picks he acquires for draft picks. Let's see if he can get into low double-digits and then pick every midget in the draft! Again.
All the more reason to stick to his plan. The lesson of all the former Sabres winning cups is we need to see a rebuild all the way through. Not try to rush it and have it collapse as a result. The good times are coming!
Why would a team’s GM come out and explicitly state his objectives before the draft and FA? “We are going to trade assets for an established NHLer, sign a guy in FA for a long contract, and draft XYZ player”
