I didn’t realize how expensive truearth was! I like the strips and they don’t get stuck in my front washer but may have to swap to mollys once we run out
I use Molly's suds for a number of years. They came out with laundry strips or she did. I'm a tad disappointed. It leaves a residue on dark clothes. And the laundry sheets is very stiff.
Amazing and I love how comprehensive this review is without going too far into unnecessary details. It's a bit silly to think about sending the HappiEarth bag back (particularly outside of the US) to them considering the cost of the shipping, energy and packaging would undo the good intent of reusing the bag haha
Aw thankuu!!! Took alot of time and effort but sooo glad u found it helpful! :) Haha yeah exactly - too bad they are in Australia or we would get them too! I (Tania) have now been using the Meliora detergent and absolutely loving it 😊
I ordered a few shampoo bar samples from them, this will be my first time! 😃Do you think I should stick to one of the shampoo bars for awhile to see if my hair likes it before trying another sample? If I do hair oil masks, will these shampoo bars be able to wash them out?
Thank you for the coupon code! Saved me a ton. I am obsessed with Epic water filters because they are one of the few companies that actually incorporates an electroabsoption filter into the system, which is the only filter that will truly filter out viruses. Also it's hard to find a brand that offers vacuum insulated bottles with filters. I really believe they have the best product on the market and the price is very reasonable.
They really are the best! We love ours too & use them constantly! Cant imagine life without them lol So glad the discount code came in handy!! Thanks for supporting our channel & letting us know you love Epic as well 😄🙌🏼
@@2ChicksGoingGreen hello, I have not. I just recently learned about this product. It is a Bronner’s product. I was hoping to get your opinion on it if you have used it.
@unpavedexplorer338 ohh it looks great. If I see it in the stores I will buy it and try it out and give a review if you’d like. For laundry I’ve been refilling at the local refill store or using sheets the zerowaste sheets. And we do use dr. Bronners as a multipurpose cleaner everyday in our house. Just have to make sure to dilute it:)
If you buy Bonners bar soap 2#. Of them one small bottle of Bonners what ever type you want melt the bar soap ,that's on line ,you can save yourself about 40 dollars by mixing it with a gallon of water.Thqnks for the great video always great to save money great soap as well.
Great video! Your compost will probably be found by a deer and eaten. A good idea, but we have separate bins for food waste at home. Keep up the good work and keep Go Green!
Lol we usually bury it pretty deep. We use those bins when we see them but were camping/backpacking alot so just did it that way when no other choice 😬. Thanks for watching!!! Go green!!! 🙌🏼
@@2ChicksGoingGreen Most of the things you're doing are just moronic. To bury food doesn't make the very least difference. Using a plastic bag instead of a reusable water bottle doesn't make a difference. The semi-religious nonsense you are following dictates you to stay home and use the net for "traveling". The worst thing you contribute to is marketing yourselves as lunatics.
Does it help hair untangle even with the once-a-week use? I’ve used Chagrin’s shampoo bar for a month but my hair gets tangled and feels rough when I comb it. Do u have any suggestions? Thanks for the video btw!❤
Yes it does! Id say watch my video on shampoo bars because I talk all about that transition period in detail in that one :) - I went through the transition period too! its not fun but once you go through it its so much better! Hope this helps! & happy to help! thanks so much for watching! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-veT_a2u4xe8.html
I was using Tide until a family member alerted me to all the toxic crap in it. Choosing a nontoxic detergent that works equally well or better is difficult. Molly's suds looks like the way to go for me. Thanks for the vid 👍🏻
I recommend trying Little Seed Farm deodorant and they have an unscented version. It looks and applies much like the Schmidt’s deo you were using in the video. I get mine at a zero waste refill shop near me. Best of luck and thank you for your thorough approach to living our best lives!
Allemannsretten (right to camp everywhere) didn't come out right. What it means is that you have the right to camp everywhere (public and private grounds), as long as its 150 meters away from houses or cabins. You are also not allowed to camp on farms infield. And of course as you say, you should always clean up afterwards and leave the camp site spot clean. Something else. Between april 15th and september 15th are you not allowed to make a camp fire. You will also find that the same rules apply for Sweden Lovely to hear that you enjoyed your stay
Correct! We just didnt get into that in detail in the video bc we were focusing on the low waste side of things but ofcourse we looked into all the rules beforehand so we could be good :). Oh didnt know about the camp fire but never made one haha so all good :) thanks for sharing! Lovedddddd our visit!
I love your energy and commitment around reusing! I would like to know more about waxing my car with a conditioner bar. Also, where can people find the reuse-able bag dryers/hanger?
Put plates or bowls on top of food dishes that we are storing in the fridge instead of plastic wrap. I know that’s not very weird. I really like how you collect water in the shower for your plants; that’s a great idea.
Great video!!! You gave a wonderful insight into this product!! I like that you showed the recipe on screen!! I would however eliminate the oil from my recipe!
Hi Tania! Thank you so much for such an amazing, thorough, and honest review 💙 So glad you’re loving the Rosemary Mint Vanilla (and that it’s also a perfume alternative! Haha 😉) and really appreciated your honesty about the shampoo. You’re absolutely right, sustainable living is all about finding the products that work best for you and your lifestyle. Thank you for refilling with us for all these years 🌍 p.s. your hair looks so good!! Especially in the clip where you’re applying the Hair Repair on the ends 😍
We found the misto to be very disappointing. It rarely mists and usually just spits out big goblets of olive oil onto the medium. I don't see any point in buying this product just so you can bring it home and dilute it with five parts water.
Definitely dont dilute it! It’s meant to be filled about halfway with ONLY oil. That could be why you are having an issue? Also if the nozzle is clogged you need to soak it in vinegar in water and put some of the vinegar water mix in the sprayer as well and let sit for 24 hrs. That fixes those issues :).
You didn’t mention anything about when you need to wash the cap itself or if the inside cloth is a different fabric. Care instructions would be a wonderful additional information please 😊
I throw it in the wash! :) sorry they have that on the etsy listing depending on which one you buy theres usually specific instructions - thanks for watching and commenting 🤗
Been using it for nearly everything for maybe 2yrs, highly recommend, though I usually find myself using Tide or whatever liquid detergent my brother brings home for towels & dishrags out of habit.
most Castile soaps have 4 or 5 ingredients , dr bronners has way more...why so many? thanks. I thought palm kernel oil was bad? its a poly unsaturated fatty acid....matt blackburn of mito life, Morley Robbins of the root cause protocol, and josh Rubin of east west healing and perefomance ALL explain this. they are the most brilliant people in my 20 year search of REAL healthy information
Hi! Great questions. Their baby in scented liquid soap only has 8 ingredients and they are mostly oils. These ingredients are much better than ones you might find in your typical store bough brands. That being said this is all really good info that I’d love to look into when I get some time! I’ve actually been wanting to do another video on Castile soap with more thorough research. If I end up doing a video on it i will definitely look into those sources. If you have anymore I’d love to hear about them:)
The biggest problem I’ve had trying to transition away from paper towels is that I have pets and I can’t keep cloths from collecting hair. You’d think you can just wash them but even several wash and dry cycles doesn’t get all the hair off. I know certain material is way worse about attracting and holding onto lint and hair than others. How do the Swedish dish cloths fair in this area?
That makes sense! I (Tania) don’t currently have any pets but I know with dust bunnies and particles that act similar to pet hair they do a good job when washing them off. You may have to try a one out and see? & Let me know how it goes so we can use that info in our future eco-petlife video :)
This works for regular clothes that have pet hair on them, try giving it a go! 1. Before washing them, let them dry. Then take a lint roller or red, reusable lint brush and get as much off the DRY rags as possible (I usually can get pretty much all the hair off. 2. After the lint brush (or before!) SHAKE the DRY rags up and down (hard and fast like you would a towel/sheet from the dryer/clothesline) over the garbage (or outside) for about 30 seconds (as long as you still see hair flying) this should toss off as much remaining hair as possible. 3. If there’s still hair after you tried step 1 & 2, put on a rubber kitchen glove, get the glove a bit wet (if there’s lots of hair add a drop of soap to the wet gloves) and take your hand (the one inside the wet rubber glove) and, using your flat palm, glide DOWNWARD with the glove, noticing the hair caught by the glove as you go, and removing it from the glove each time. Repeat and Rewet the glove as needed until no more hair is picked up or visible. If very rarely had to go to step 3, but if I have, it’s always ended up removing all the hair and once the cloths are in the wash and finished, anything that was left is completely gone. Another thing to consider is “dedicating” a certain cloth or number of cloths ONLY for pet hair, and other to NOT be used for hair. That way you avoid the pet hair build up on most of the other cloths (as much as humanly possible) and it makes cleaning the “pet cloths” much more easier to clean than having to clean EVERY cloth the way I mentioned. Hope the tips I said worked, let me know and best of luck! 😊 (Remember this also works for regular clothing like pants, wools, suits, dresses etc.)
Hi just saw your review while searching for an appropriate switch to a shampoo bar. Was going through the ingredients list and noticed sodium hydroxide, which to my knowledge destroys hair follicles and thins hair.
Love this comprehensive breakdown, Tania! We are all about REUSE and are excited to see more and more brands adopting circular models. It truly is the way of the future. Thank you for being on this journey with us - we really couldn't do this without our community🌎
YES, such an important topic - we'd love to see more sustainable products geared towards everyone! We're so grateful to be part of this amazing gift guide. Happy holidays!
