I've fixed mine a couple of times. I just used a regular mending plate and drilled a hole through each broken side of the frame through the back and fastened it with a bolt and a nut. That fix lasted a good 7-8 years. Then it started getting loose a again. I figured out it was because the latch was moving forward as I pressed down on the hood, so i drilled a hole up top and put one bolt straight down to prevent it from moving forward and that worked for a couple years. But today I went to the Honda dealer to get my Takata airbag replaced and they somehow broke that. I'm running out of stuff to drill through, so I'm not sure how I'm gonna fix it this time. Plus I think they really messed the latch up this time trying to get it to close. Just got back home from the tow. But if I figure out another way I'll post it here. If your frame is just broken on the sides of the latch, my mending plate method worked really well and can probably last the rest of the life of the car for most. I don't know how to weld, and I don't have anything to cut with, so this fix will be very difficult to do for me. Do you sell them? lol. Maybe I'd buy one.
Hi! i have a little different issues....i opened the hood latch .and when i try to put it back now i cant close my hood......i guess i o adjust it ..... but i don't know how......any tips ????? thx for the video! :)
You could try replacing the hood latch. It's pretty easy & quick to remove. There are many RU-vid videos to reference, and the part is relatively inexpensive.
