No, but all I did was shift the mounting points on the column back about an inch. Re drilled the one on the column itself and then slotted the dash bar mounts. Moved the column closer by about 1.25”
I was thinking of just getting a bypass fuse switch for the fuse and just do that on the fly I don’t really mind for the lights, I wouldn’t be doing it near people or anything
I cut the green wire to the yaw sensor than extended the wires to a switch and it works fine turning the yaw on and off but once i start driving the car runs terribly and feels like its getting fuel cut up top i have no idea whats wrong
@@Z34_TR So you had a tune previously done before cutting the yaw sensor wire? I wanna do it now while the car is stock, hopefully I won't have the same issue
@@mrchina2607 I think you should be fine just talk to your tuner I think mine was a freak accident but I also cant use launch control or the backfire tune I had so I need to get that situated
Hey man I don’t see it in the past two videos but how hard was removing the oem hardlines for the return to regulator. Been searching for days and can’t find much on that. Any tips tricks or advice would definitely help. I plan on attacking my fuel system tomorrow.
Hello Tim, Great video, thanks for it. I have one question. I cut the black wire of yaw sensor (thought it was better to cut the negative cable). Does this make any difference then cutting the green one? I still get the slip light on when I turn the switch
Yea that works too. just if you want to wire the brake signal relay as well it would need to be switched ground. Typically it is better to cut the ground, but in this case it’s just sensor low voltage so really not a problem.
Hey Tim, today i connected the switch that cuts off the YAW sensor, and it turned off only the anti-slip. I also pressed the button for the VDC and turned off, and also pulled out the brake light fuse. Unfortunatly when I tried to do a burnout it still cut off the power to the engine, I don't if there's a different wiring for my model. Do you have any info that could help. And thanks for this amazing video. Note: I have a 2015 370z.
@anthonymarquina8581 I don’t believe so. You also can get a coil over kit that utilizes the stock toe arms and leaves the springs on the buckets. But for a true setup you just need to replace the toe arms
This is pretty awesome, man. But I think I'd want a safety cover on that switch. My dumb ass would definitely hit it by accident. And where it's located isn't super visible when your hand is on the shifter. 👍
Im planning on doing this. I however have the open diff that comes in the base and touring models. I know replacing an LSD will give me much better performance but If I cut the yaw sensor and make this button will I still be able to somewhat drift? I know with the open diff I am still going to be spinning both wheels at the same time but I should still be able to drift just not great.. Right?
It is extremely important you have both tires spinning at all times when drifting. You can’t do that with an open diff. If you want to get into drifting I would recommend getting the open diff welded so both wheels will always spin together.
@@TimCowleyDrift I am saving up for an LSD swap I was just curious if I could do small parking lot drifts just to get a feel for the car while im waiting to get the LSD because of right now with the engine cutting the tires I cant even do a burnout.
Great video man, really well detailed. Just curious what made you go with a 40 amp relay? and would it be possible to fry the ecu or yaw sensor having this switch? :)
I just so happened to have it laying around totally unnecessary to have that much headroom. Also I can’t imagine you could do any damage your only interrupting signals, not overloading anything.
@@TimCowleyDrift Thanks for replying so fast haha. Great, that's good to know. I know Ztech cs2000 has a module they sell to do this, and he has made it that you splice into the yaw sensor ground wire for grounding the module/relay instead of grounding it to the body, could you do the same for the way you have done it?
The whole purpose of the relay is to control two separate circuits with one switch. If you just want to cut the brake signal you can just put a switch on that wire
@@z34lewis they’re getting to the point where I may order new covers from corbeau because of wear and fade but it’s really better than any other aftermarket seat I’ve had
Do you mind listing out all of the mods u use on your car to make it a daily driver/ occasional drifter? I have the same goal of making my car like yours, thanks!
Please let us know bro. I've got a shell for drifting atm. Might sell the HR or swap parts out. Wondering what you think goes well in the 370. I've actually never seen a video talk about that pedal!
@@TimCowleyDrift what suspension setup do you recommend for a g37s coupe? I’m making it a daily drifter sequel car. Also, what suspension setup do u run on your car
Start with a good set of coilovers and make sure none of your bushings are trash. Rack spacers and shaving the bump stops is a decent amount of angle enough to learn with. Upgrade to bolt on angle kit when you’ve progressed to the point of needing it. I currently have BC digressive rate coilovers Z1 street arms for toe and camber and gate k bolt on angle kit. My setup is already overkill for how I drive. Good balance for a street car.
@@TimCowleyDrift I just dropped it off at the mechanics actually, and I bought the same motor for my year. What can I tell my mechanic to swap over? Ex: spark plugs,, coil packs, pulleys, manifolds etc
I did this with a g35 lsd gear into my 370z case and now when I turn off my VDC after driving for a little bit the VDC will turn back on and my abs light and stability light will turn on and my VDC light will stay illuminated. Everything works perfect mechanically I think my car is just confused because of the g35 gear having less teeth. I tried cutting the green wire to my yaw box to see if it’ll take away the abs light and it did but since my stability light and Vdc light were still already illuminated I wasn’t sure if they were still illuminated from the original issue I was having when I would drive and the abs light would turn on or if it was illuminated because I did the yaw box wire cut properly. I went to do some donuts and it was literally driving like an open diff and I know for a 100% fact i installed a g35 LSD. I’m running out of ideas and need help so any ideas please send my way.
@@TimCowleyDrift I was thinking injectors at this point, do you remember what it ended up being? Couldn’t have been just the plugs? I changed the fuel Pump felt good for a little then back to Misfiring, new plugs fuel filter and pump bought a fuel pressure gauge I need to hook up but yea any advice would be great
Hi Tim! Thanks for the great video, however one question: if I was to snip this "burnout wire" in the glove compartment permanently - what other side-effects may happen? Is it just going to kill the nanny for gas-brake pedal at the same time, or will any other system be affected? I already have a drift switch for killing the yaw sensor and it works fine, so I'd skip adding another switch or pulling the wires to this same switch if possible - I'd just kill the burnout nanny and that's it. Any other side effect if I just snip it? Thanks for the info!
I’ve thought about trying this as well. I read somewhere that prolonged lack of signal will trigger a code but I’ve left it off for hundreds of miles. Go for it
@@TimCowleyDrift That was a quick reply, cheers man. I'll try it out and see what happens. Worst case scenario I'll just splice the wire back together. I'll post an update here once it's all done.
@@ajanianderson3709 Sorry for the late reply - I didn't have the time to do it nor test it out. But in the meantime - I did it. It works like a charm! I actually have separate switches, I already did the drift switch a few years ago, and it works great, disables the yaw sensor no problem - to turn it back on, it needs a car restart as well. Tim's burnout switch works well, I did it on a separate switch - I tried it out, it throws no error codes, and it can be cycled on-off without restarting the car! Works like a charm.
