First "hit" was a head touch. BS point. Shit this is a joke... It's like watching random people compete in a Chinese martial arts tournament. So pointless...
Although this isn't my style, I can see that even though these guys aren't pro fighters they definitely have very good fitness and athleticism in order to move around like that. At the end of the day 99% of martial art practitioners are hobbyist that aren't trying to actually intentionally fight but this looks like a fun way to compete in a safe manner that allows these guys to go to work the next day. I see a lot of criticism of 'Point Fighting' but to me let these guys have their fun, the same way people have fun doing Fencing even though that can look silly and not like a real sword fight.
He is my sensei he is a amazing person and the best sensei ever without his family i wouldn't be where i am today and hos daughters are two of the best people I've ever met
Wow nice dirty kick. Instead of just doing a normal spinning hook kick, you did him dirty by doing a Capoeira kick for maximum power, in point fighting. GJ being a d bag with zero sportsmanship.
I used to be really into this when I was younger. Now I look at this and it looks so silly. Playing tags with your feet and hands. Biggest martial arts mistake I made was to choose a taekwondo as opposed to grappling/BJJ.
I disagree with you, point fighting is just another type of fighting with pros and cons. It teaches you distance and timing like no other combat sport because it's point based and not contact based. And it isn't just me saying this, I know a few world champions personally that have said the same thing
@@blakegundry I respectfully disagree w/ you. I competed at this level and was nationally rated by NASKA, the quality of the competitors has deteriorated tremendously in the last 10 yrs or so. On the other hand the WKF fighters have made a lot of progress and continue to improve. Watch Aghayev fighting Raymond Daniels in Karate Combat after retiring from WKF w/ only 3 previous Karate Combat fights and using WKF style techniques.
Grappling is good but bjj is for closet homosexuals. I'd rather kick someone in the face than have some guys groin in my face or balls on my chest. Michael venum page was a beast in point fighting, now he's in mma, no one can match his speed.
Thank-you for making these videos! This channel is about to blow up! I'm getting ready for a karate tournament in 2 weeks and I've been watching the matt to get pumped mentally and let me tell you these are some of the most entertaining videos I've ever come across. I love the way you explain what's going on in the fight and how much energy goes into your reactions to the fight. This is good content right here 👏 🎉
It's a team sponsored by the Army. I'm retired and work for the Army as a civilian, never heard of this team before, doubt there are any Soldiers in it. We tried for several yrs and were always told that Karate, unlike Tae Kwon Do, wasn't an Olympic sport. Times have changed.
