It depends where you are in the world- in New Zealand We knew them as theRZ500 also a couple of points. not actually a V4 engine. They are a 50° staggered tandem twin - actually two RZ 250 engines geared together! . Also the aluminium frame was only in Japan. Most markets got a steel frame from memory.
@@gsxrjeff yes I had one in 85. Pity I still didn’t have it would be worth a fortune! I traded it for one of the first FZ five Valve 750s and I’m pretty sure my RZ it had a silver steel frame to.
I have driven a TS 250 offroad. The steering is slow to respond on singletrack. Better suited for casual street use and gravel roads. I currently own a 1985 Suzuki SP 250.
Brings back some good memories of mine, which I bought new in 1977. Put a one tooth smaller front sprocket on it plus a K&N air filter that allowed the bike to do an effortless third gear wheelie for a long ways. Yours is in very nice shape.
