This is the first knurling video I've seen that tightens the knurls BEFORE starting the lathe. Good job. I discovered this after many hours of experimentation. Starting with the wheels already pressed into the stock is the only way to assure you don't get double strikes.
Use a tenths indicator instead of the scriber on the end, you will get much more accurate results cause you avoid the excess pressure issue like you discussed.
yea i noticed that as well datum c is actually the centerline of the two faces as the datum arrow is in line with the leader lline which means.....the centerline of the two outside walls is actually the c datum....but other than that.....this is an awesome learning video :)
Can you please tell me what brand/model that knurling tool is? I’d like to buy the same one online, but I can’t tell which are good quality or junk. Thanks!
and this explains why toolmakers and machinists look at quality guys and ask, "where are you smoking the pipe and what's in it" ? if it takes 1000 points to inspect a diameter, you're smoking dope.
Hello Russell, my name is Guillermo Cervantes, Im CMM programmer using Calypso 2017, I have a question; When Im using the machine, when it travels I notice has a click sound at all axes XYZ, are you familiar with this type of situation?

Thank you so much for the tutorial. It is really helping clear and nice. But one thing I am not sure is if I would like to have a point measure manually by user during automatic CNC running program, is that possible?
You've probably figured it out already, but in case anyone else needs to know, you go to Measurement Plan Editor Features, and change that feature from CNC to Manual.
