@@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernILbut an ACA PN-20 is the old ASC RM-130. the ACA logo is the new logo of the ASC logo. the ASC logo is the old logo of the ACA logo.
@@thesouthcarolinasirenboyUm no. ACA became ASC in 1995 after they got bankrupt in 1993, which was a year later after they released the PN-20 which was in 1992 which means they were still ACA. It’s not the other way around man
@@nascarsimracing1 yeah they have a few that are still up. Some got replaced by T-128s tho but I hope these stay for a while as these are so cool. Too bad they’re high maintenance tho which sucks as they’re DC sirens with battery backup so they could be very good
I was always kinda blown away how these things pack a punch. I've only been to one (Rolling Meadows, the one closer to Harper) but it still out did the 2001s near it. The only ones I know of down here is near Decatur, and those a slowly getting replaced like Meadows & Schaumburg. Sadly no test from me this month, I too busy being an animal in Pittsburgh rn.
Oh yeah. I’ve also heard other Penetrators, and this was by far the loudest (aside from the P-50 ofc). It’s a lot like a P-15 but about twice as loud as way more punchy. Less chest rattling tho as it is higher pitched but it’s still impressive for a high pitched siren like that to shake stuff. This also makes Thunderbolts seem like an XT22 in comparison. Now I also finally know how loud a 2001-130 should be and I can safely say, the 2001-130s aren’t anywhere near 130dB. ACA and ASC sure weren’t lying about these being around 130dB bc they’re SUPER loud
Oh it was more than loud, and yeah it does kinda sound like a 2001 lol but it’s much louder. It almost peaks like a 2001 and yet it’s louder than the loudest Thunderbolt I’ve heard. Makes sense as it has one really well designed chopper, which is the same as the one in the Screamer S-5/S-2
this is an RM-130. well...technically, in the late 90s ACA became ASC and they rebranded a lot of siren models with new names, the PN20 was one of them, it became the RM130. just like how the P50 became the T135AC
Yeah. I don’t like it at all when 2001s fail. Especially ones that have Fulton radios as those are supposed to be very reliable. I’ll check up on it tomorrow and see if it rotated bc tomorrow is the day of the full test. I’m going to a PN-20 for it btw
@@vcvcf1896 yeah it has a good track record so I was surprised it failed a growl test like that. It apparently just misread the tones which is the reason why it failed. Hopefully I see that it has rotated tomorrow bc if not, I would be reporting it
Roundback 2001s are not very common. Also the visuals with the siren and the snow is super cool (no pun intended). The audio is amazing too. Amazing video as usual!
FSK for a Whelen? Usually they just use DTMF tones. I know they did DTMF right before the siren turned on but still usually they just do DTMF for the Whelens but ig not this time. The siren sounds really good.
The FSK didn’t activate it, it was the DTMF later. But Whelens can activate with custom FSK similar to the one in the video if they have custom radios and knowing Fulton, they sometimes put the radios into the controls of sirens instead of outside the controls in a separate box like on the ASC sirens they sell which is why I was scanning the frequency of the Fulton system bc I thought the FSK might be what sets off AH’s sirens but clearly, it’s not the case at all. Mount Prospect’s Whelens used the FSK before they got replaced tho as they were on NWCD’s Fulton system, but they had the Fulton radios mounted outside the controls on the pole in a separate control box. Whelen has their own FSK activation too btw. I heard it and it sounds like a very goofy version of ATI FSK
@@GabrielCL2T22A yeah Fulton is weird with their setups. I was surprised to find out their radio stuff isn’t as weird…except just some of the FSK commands tho that is. I might attempt to decode some of them to try and figure out what they really are for just so I get a better idea of how the stuff works
Do you have a scanner that can scan it tho is a better question lol. Any updates on you getting that FSK Fulton system? Also, if you want the frequency, you message me on IG
@@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL I have a Uniden BCD436HP Digital scanner, which can do 25-1300MHz. unfortunately that plan fell through sadly. okay will do. but what is your insta?
It was cloudy af…no shadows whatsoever lol. The drone shot prb makes it look like that as the top of the siren gets the most light than the sides and bottom lol
